Leo LaPorte said on "This Week in Tech" that he abandoned Second Life because "it's all about sex."  Made my jaw drop to the floor.  After I picked it up, this is what I wanted to tell you about Second Life, what it's not "all about," and what it is, at least from my viewpoint.  Used a tune called "Day Job" from Chris Kirby's album "Vampire Hotel" on the show.  Back when I interviewed him on The IDSL he said I could use his music on my show.  He may even vaguely remember who I am.  I encourage you to buy and check out the rest of the album, too -- I think the title tune from "Vampire Hotel" reminds me of almost all the clubs in Second Life where I've DJed late into the night.  Except of course we take vampires a lot more seriously in Second Life.  ;-) Oh, it turns out Chris Kirby has a brand new album, "Wonderizer."  I just got my MP3 copy from Amazon (and then Chris wanted to send me one, oh well...) and I look forward to listening to it.  Might be getting a signed CD for a later giveaway, we're talkin'.  ;)

Yes, this is my 125 episode, and as of tomorrow it'll be four years since I started.  Yay.  :) A GOOD DAY!. I got a call for a short Temp assignment, which happens to be working for a temp agency that's working for another company that's working for our Public Radio folks.  Only three degrees of separation.  Wow. Sure will be nice to be working again. Oh, and I found my lanyard for my glasses.  And you should care because....  ? Started recording from practice scripts I found at the Edge Studios website.  Recorded 35, and put a couple in this podcast.  What do you think?  Talked about doing a demo disk, if I can make up my mind what should be on there.  Eventually I'll get it. 1-800-COLLECT Demo I've always started with seriously Entry Level jobs, with not much in the way of qualifications.  Broadcasting and voiceover requires coming in the door with talent and skills. Here's the audio from a video I put together for Cosmic Surrounding Technology for a foreign presentation.  First time I've ever tried a long video, and first time I've tried anything this big from video captured from Second Life, and the video is, well, just okay.  I think the interview about SL for education, with Dr. Carolyn Lowe, PhD, of the University of Northern Michigan, is very worth a listen.  Enjoy.
