Shane, Emma & Summer Kennett reside in Lincoln, NE and you might remember Shane's incredible heart from her previous episode (Episode 39). After recording our first episode with Shane, we knew we wanted to hear more about her relationship with a woman she had befriended named Shirley. We were thrilled when she asked if Summer & Emma could join in for this episode, and it is one of our absolute favorites. Shane shares with us how she came to notice Shirley, strike up a conversation, and eventually began visiting her weekly. They share with us how crippling loneliness can be, and how simply smiling at those we encounter has the potential to change lives. Luke is an attorney at Dewald & Deaver Law Firm who just so happens to be Becky's husband. Because our spouses play a very important role in this apostolate (free childcare so we can record our episodes!), we thought it would fun to have them on the show this summer to share their stories. We are excited to re-release this episode with Andrew Niewald. Andrew is a teacher at St. John's Catholic School in Beloit, KS, and in this episode he shares what makes St. John's so dynamic! We enjoyed this episode so much, and Andrew deeply convicted us that Catholic school's need to be more than just private schools that teach religion-they need to be places that are bursting with Catholic culture and demonstrate to our children how to have a deep personal faith! Andrew shares some unique ways that St. John's encourages students to make the faith their own, and teaches them to become critical thinkers. He also discusses ways they work to prepare students for their future vocations. This episode will leave you nodding your head and considering what you can do to inspire this kind of vibrant faith in the youth God has placed in your life.

We are thrilled to re-release one of our favorite episode with Kaela Volkmer. Kaela is a wife, mother and social worker who resides with her family in Omaha, NE. God has provided Kaela with a number of opportunities over the course of her life to travel abroad and experience a variety of cultures right here in the United States, so when she felt the call to help welcome Syrian refugees to Omaha, she was equipped to say "yes." In this episode, she shares the moving story of how her parish recently banded together to welcome the Al Kango family to Omaha and what a rich blessing it has been to all involved. While you may not be called to help re-settle refugees in your community, we are confident that this episode will inspire you to welcome Jesus in the vulnerable in your life.

Ann Warday resides in Lincoln, NE where she teaches at Cathedral of the Risen Christ Catholic School. Alan Graham and his wife reside in Austin, TX where they have been influential in serving the homeless population there for many years. Alan is the founder of Mobile Loaves and Fishes, which began as a food truck with the intention of meeting Austin's homeless population where they are, and has grown to be so much more! In this episode, we chat with Alan about his inspiring ministry, and focus a great deal of our conversation on his recently released book Welcome Homeless: One Man's Journey of Discovering the Meaning of Home. We were so inspired by Alan's thoughts on targeting the problem of homelessness in America, and so enjoyed the opportunity to have a conversation with Alan who is truly a saint for our times.
