Sometime ago a young woman travelling alone sat stranded in her car on I-95 in route to Philadelphia, PA.  A nearby homeless man, Johnny Bobbitt, sensing her distress came to her aid.  Johnny Bobbitt told her to remain in her car and keep the doors locked.  Moments later he returned with a red container filled with gasoline which he purchased with his last twenty dollars.   To show her gratitude, Katelyn McClure, the young woman who was stranded, and her boyfriend, Mark D'Amico, started a GoFundMe hoping to raise $10,000 to help Bobbitt get back on his feet.  In less than a month, the GoFundMe account raised nearly $400,000.    At that point, this was a Rags to Riches feel good story.  But what took place afterwards leaves one puzzled as to how these good intentions can yield so much trouble.   Listen in to find out about the trouble in this story and to hear the insight and answers to this entire situation through The Holy Scriptures. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/gofundme-for-homeless-man-

A Texas Justice of the Peace gave parents the option of paddling their 14 year old daughter or a $500 fine and a misdemeanor record. They chose paddling. Sometime afterwards, they brought suit against the Justice, saying the paddling caused humiliation, fear and mental anguish. Are these parents justified and should corporal punishment be used to discipline children? When choosing political candidates it is often said that we must choose the lesser of two evils. But as a Christian is it EVER acceptable to choose evil? The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) held an annual convention at the end of July, 2011.  They addressed a number of issues that face African-Americans, in particular, the vicious cycle of crime and unemployment that plagues black men and youths.  They cite the loss of manufacturing jobs, shrinking government jobs and the recession as major contributors, but the primary factor cited was the low level of education or rather, the lack thereof.  Is pushing for higher standards in urban schools where the majority of the students are minorities really the key to breaking the vicious cycle of violence and prison?  Will pushing our youth to strive for educational excellence keep them from becoming fodder for the criminal justice system or should we be looking beneath the surface of inferior education?  Join us as we search the scriptures for answers to these questions and more.
