Dream about Beth; Grant and I head back downtown; bike shop closed; Wax Trax records; 50s-motif McDonalds on LaSalle; feel secure there; drop-by Sessie’s house; looking through more stupid car ads; see movie.

Today nothing happened.

Go roller skating with Eisuke, Kiyoko, and Yuji; eat at Jalapeno’s first; Yumi complains she’s forgotten how to skate, wearing knee-pads; accidentally call Yuji “toothpick”, in Japanese.

Meggin gets the Young Investigator grant; idea to go canoeing this summer; the meaning of “love” in Philosophy; go run in the rain; write letters; listen to “Evening at Stu’s” tape; life with Meggin v. lone hero?

Fastening on corner-guards; sweeping out the Anaheim Convention Center; re-assigned to La Cienega Park in Beverly Hills; shocked when Kevin tells me my wages; meet Joe, and am intimidated by him; buy answering machine.

Happy Valentine’s Day; actually, nothing much happened; made some decent money at work; Jill E comes in with her parents; scary!

Today we got our reservation to Walt Disney World.

Shinya back from the East Coast; he loved Boston; “I Love NY” t-shirts; Shinya in a funk over Muria’s continued relationship with Marcel.

The big day; session with Ray Charland; non-ability to name what I want out of life; he always asks about sex; can’t “see” my future; leave his office, a mess; sign-up for meditation; irritable conversation with Meggin; read her letter earlier.

Sigmund breaks her foot in an accident; makeshift cast; take her to the vet; housesitting at Grandma and Grandpa’s with Patti; last days; not very good, like waiting around for something bad.

Michelle calls me one night, wants to take me out; I ask her to dinner; out with Rich and others from O’Neil; drinking (too much) and dancing like an idiot; Michelle lends me her Enya tape; it’s brilliant.

Today, Thursday, nothing much happened. I’m being “hyp-mo-tized” watching Letterman. We’ll see what happens.

I was the only one in class who had got a very-good on my S.S. report. Me and David L tied for first on spelling. The square-dance was fun.

Yumi and I run in to Tom and Mary Horn at Cinema 9; see Eisuke at Streetlight; burritos at Planet Fresh; pick up dive cards at Adventure Sports; brush up on Japanese writing; Shinya stuck at the airport in San Francisco.

Windy as hell; couldn’t sleep; some of the American Study 1 TAs are undergrads!; girl from Africa class at SMC; Meggin calls, hyper about flamingoes; listen to The Madness; girl at Oakes coffee shop playing Treasure.

Sean and I get to L.A.; felt kind of weird being there; breakfast with Claire and Dick; Venice Beach; Club Rubber; Claire’s track meet; Rich offers me a job with O’Neil at $10 and hour!; confused at to what I’m supposed to be doing.

Do the math test that Mr. Elander gave me; Todd and I help Grandma and Grandpa set up for the show at Hawthorne; looking through the yearbooks again and thinking more and more of Beth.

Today we finished up our work for tommarow and I got mine all done.

Spend most of the day in my room; clean and go for a run; Yumi and Grace return from Mexico; Yumi’s ecstatic to see me; hippo t-shirt from San Diego zoo, goofy but cute.
