  • Episode 46: "The plural of mediocrity"

    19/03/2017 Duração: 03h23min

In Episode 46 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett don't have much to talk about. Jeffrey even says as much a minute into the show. Three hours later, it's actually over. Over the Andrei Rubalev running time, we talk about Yoenis Cespedes's first column, recap another week in Matt Harvey, discuss the WBC forever again, preview the 2017 Mets bullpen with old friend Chris McShane, answer your emails on Tim Tebow, end up on the Yankees Roster Resource page for some reason, and preview Wrestlemania 33 with another old friend, Tom Holzerman.

  • Episode 45: "The labors of Confortocles"

    12/03/2017 Duração: 01h47min

In Episode 45 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett go in with no agenda and already running behind schedule because the angry Oriole bird threw up the Gabby Ynoa twitter bat signal right before we started. So we discuss Ynoa's outing, Keith Hernandez's eating habits, Spring Training cuts, and the first few WBC games. In the second half of the show, we are joined by Tim Finnegan of Baseball Prospectus to preview the 2017 Mets starting pitching. So it's time for another round of This Week in Matt Harvey, Tim offers some thoughts on seeing Zack Wheeler's Spring debut live, we debate de Grom versus Syndergaard, and of course Robert Gsellman comes up.In the third half of the show we have no correspondence, so you instead have to suffer through our submission for Tom Holzerman's Wrestling Blog 100. Don't say we didn't warn you.

  • Episode 44: "Luis Guillorme bat catch dot gif"

    05/03/2017 Duração: 02h17min

In Episode 44 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett achieve peak #brand. Luis Guillorme had a heckuva week, There is more Jay Bruce talk. Jarrett spends twenty minutes talking about the WBC. This week in Matt Harvey is back! Most of the 2017 Mets infield preview with our EIC Bryan Grosnick is spent talking about the Padres Roster Resource page. There is also obscure Mets minor leaguer talk, and Jeffrey drinks too much sake and reads out his grocery store receipt and yells about the Dragon Gate dudes on (or off) this year's WON Awards results. Like we said, the #brand is strong, you guys.

  • Episode 43: "We are all somehow dreadfully cracked about the head"

    27/02/2017 Duração: 02h20min

In Episode 43 of For All You Kids Out There, we have some Spring Training news to round up, so round it up we shall. Amed Rosario is getting some early positive buzz, as is Marcos Molina. Michael Conforto sure looks healthy, which means he is probably good again. Jay Bruce is playing first base. It's real, not just Terry in March (although it is technically still Feburary). Also Lucas Duda might be toast. We also handicap the 25th man race, which leads us to the conclusion that the Mets should just re-sign Kelly Johnson. In the second half of the show we are joined by David Roth of VICE Sports to preview the 2017 Mets Outfield. Here is a not-entirely-comprehensive list of what we talk about instead.Alexander Siddig's IMDB page (again)Keith's wine preferencesRon Darling's Ray Donovan takesWhen exactly Dexter went off the railsColby Rasmus' beardChris Christie, drive-time sports radio hostDavid paraphrases The Horse Whisperer story from the New Yorker piece on Mike and the Mad DogWhat Robert Gsellman would have

  • Episode 42: "We are the angry mob, we read the papers everyday"

    19/02/2017 Duração: 02h39min

In Episode 42 of For All You Kids Out There you will not find the meaning of existence, unless it is to listen to a podcast that is an hour too long and too much about pro wrestling. We start off with actual Mets news, of which there is some. In between rounds of pitcher fielding practice, Zack Wheeler threw off a mound, David Wright played catch, the Mets may or may not have discusses a Neil Walker extension, and may or may not have told Jay Bruce he's playing first base. We also spare a few minutes for Dellin (nee Dylan) Betances' testy arbitration hearing. In the second half of the show, Craig Goldstein is here to discuss the BP 101, including you know who and also you know who. There's also some breaking Jon Niese news and Jeffrey learns about the Yankees projected 2017 rotation and oh boy it is not good you guys.In the third half of the show we answer your e-mails and Facebook queries and spend too much time contemplating the recent New Japan shows and the future of the WWE.

  • Episode 41: "The cause of (and solution to) all of life's problems"

    12/02/2017 Duração: 02h19min

There is Mets news this week, and Jeffrey doesn't want to downplay it of course, but there will be time for that later. The important thing is the Baseball Prospectus 2017 Annual is out, and thus, a drinking game must occur. So we are joined by Craig Goldstein, Meg Rowley, Kate Morrison, defending champ Nick Stellini, to try and identify rando middle relievers with all identifying information removed. Many drinks are consumed. We also answer your emails, and Jeffrey is slightly more sober than he was this time last year. Sober enough to roast some fennel while writing this blurb at least. We cannot and will not speak for the others.

  • Episode 40: "Step right up and greet the exact same Mets"

    05/02/2017 Duração: 02h02min

In Episode 40 of For All You Kids Out There, there are actual Mets signings to discuss. Of course it's players from the 2016 Mets, because apparently if they introduce a new player to the locker room it's like one of those elementary school volcanoes you had to make. We discuss who the 40-man casualties might be, lament poor Rafael Montero again, and talk about Andrew McCutchen for some reason. In the second half of the show we are joined by Tim Finnegan of Baseball Prospectus to see what the supercomputers are spitting out on the 2017 Mets. And in the third half of the show we answer your e-mails, including our allotted one annual fantasy-baseball-related question.

  • Episode 39: "Were you saying 'boo' or 'boo-ruce?'"

    01/02/2017 Duração: 02h19min

Episode 39 of For All You Kids Out There got pushed back to prospect lists, TV appearances, and the pro wrestling, but don't worry it isn't like the Mets do anything anymore. So instead we talk Jay Bruce (again), Jerry Blevins (again), and Noah Syndergaard's tweets. In the second half of the show, because we pushed this week's episode back we have four prospect lists to cover, and they are not great, Bob. In the third half of the show, well, we are basically a pro wrestling podcast with some baseball content now.

  • Episode 38: "There are doubtless subtle surprises ahead"

    22/01/2017 Duração: 02h40min

Jeffrey and Jarrett talk about another tragedy in the Dominican Republic, 2016 Mets free agents on the move elsewhere, Luis Castillo on the move again, and a new class of Hall of Famers. In the second half of the show we are joined by Craig Goldstein to discuss the Cubs, Dodgers, and Rockies prospect lists. In the third half of the show we answer your correspondence and talk about the Royal Rumble, natch.

  • Episode 37: "Don't leave me hanging on the telephone"

    16/01/2017 Duração: 02h21min

In Episode 37 of For All You Kids Out There, we have actual Mets news to discuss, dodgy rural internet connections be damned. There's Arbitration Avenue Audio...wait, wrong show. Uh, For All You...Arbiters Out There...yeah, we'll go with that. The Mets aren't making Friends with Wilmer Flores. Sorry, sorry, I am trying to delete it. Next we talk Spring Training invites and muse on if David Roseboom could make the team as a second lefty, and how agog people will be watching Luis Guillorme nee Luis Guillermo in infield drills. In the second half of the show, it's our most esoteric David Roth segment yet. If that doesn't entice you, you probably stopped listening to us months ago.In the third half of the show we discuss the Pirates and Cardinals prospect lists and then answer your e-mails with only a bare minimum of pro wrestling content.

  • Episode 36: "So this is the New Year, and I don't feel any different"

    08/01/2017 Duração: 02h03min

We here at For All You Kids recognize that this is nominally a Mets podcast, so we should try and find as much Mets content as possible to fill your headphones, even in the rather fallow Winter news period. So we do talk about Yoenis Cespedes' new contract and how it may have came about this week.As for the rest of the show, well, here's a mostly inclusive list of topics...- What the Phillies are doing with their outfield in 2017- Jarrett's Bartolo Colon comment in the 2017 Annual (still tangentially Mets stuff we suppose)- Why we still like Lewis Brinson- How every prospect might strike out 200 times a year- A dangerous Nick Senzel comp (also tangentially Mets-related)- The recent history of the baseball card industry- Crawdads, or if your prefer, crawfish- New Japan Pro Wrestling...of course

  • Episode 35: "There will be feasting and dancing in Jerusalem next year"

    31/12/2016 Duração: 02h21min

In Episode 35 of For All You Kids Out There, Jarrett and Jeffrey have nothing to talk about, so we decide to turn the agenda over to their Facebook group. This goes...uh, exactly as you would expect. So on the docket, in no particular order: LOOGies, Aaron Barrett, TRAIDing pitchers, Rangers fans love of Andy Ibanez, Jeffrey's love of Anderson Tejeda, defensive metrics, Jeffrey's love of Jordany Valdespin (in 2011), middle infield storytime, and of course, a lot of pro wrestling. Out with the old year of podcasts, in with the same year of podcasts.

  • For All You Kids Out There's Fairytale of New York

    22/12/2016 Duração: 02h21min

It's a For All You Kids Holiday Special!Jeffrey tells the same Miguel Sano stories and thinks too much about Yusmeiro Petit.Jarrett steals all of Jeffrey's answers.Craig is just here to talk about hardware.Kate Morrison, contributing writer at FanRag Sports MLB, Baseball Prospectus, and WFAA.com has a very long title now and loathes "Careless Whisper"Kate Feldman is a last-minute replacement for Greg Karam and has strong feelings about Evan Longoria's walk-up musicAnd there's a special holiday treat at the end!

  • Episode 34: "Frank Sinatra has a cold"

    20/12/2016 Duração: 01h58min

In Episode 34 of For All You Kids Out There, a gravelly-voiced and coughing pair of co-hosts meander through the meager Mets news of the week. In the first half of the show we talk about all the relievers the Mets aren't signing and when they might actually get some of that vaunted payroll flexibility back. It might involve trading Jay Bruce which we also discuss for what seems like the tenth straight week. There's also Hall of Fame and prospect list chat.In the second half of the show we are joined by Baseball Prospectus writer Meg Rowley who makes an impassioned play for a second season of Pitch and a Hall of Fame plaque for Edgar Martinez. In the third half of the show we answer your correspondence and try to figure out what is the plan for Wrestlemania.

  • Episode 33: "I have a bone to pick with Canadian bartenders"

    11/12/2016 Duração: 02h17min

In Episode 33 (which apparently isn't actually Episode 33 but we will soldier on) of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett recap the Winter Meetings. We hope you like Triple-A phase of the Rule 5 draft chat! We do talk a bit about the major league phase too, as well as the Red Sox acquiring Chris Sale, the Cardinals acquiring Dexter Fowler, and the Venezuelan Winter League not acquiring Michael Conforto. In the second half of the show, in what we imagine will be the first and last White Sox segment in podcast history, we are joined by Nick Schaefer of BP South Side to discuss Chicago's ridiculous prospect haul this past week.In the third half of the show, we answer your e-mails, discover a hidden Jordan Valdespin treasure on MiLB.tv, and Jarrett rants about long indy wrestling shows. Well, one in particular.

  • Episode 32: "Bad luck comes in from Tampa on the back of a truck"

    06/12/2016 Duração: 02h47min

In Episode 32 of For All You Kids Out There, we have a lot to cover as the Winter Meetings kickoff in D.C. In the first half of the show we further examine the fallout from the Yoenis Cespedes contract and what it might mean for the Mets as they head into the busiest week of the offseason. There's also some Mets news. Zack Wheeler might be headed to the pen. Is this gonna work? There's been some internal promotions on the player development side as well, which is the kind of thing that happens this time of year. Plus there are the Yankees and Red Sox farm systems to discuss and a new CBA to analyze. In the second half of the show we are joined by David Roth of Vice Sports, who also convenniently happens to be the author of the Rays chapter into the 2017 Baseball Prospectus Annual (available for pre-order at Amazon.com of course). Naturally this segment goes off the rails immediately, and we end up discussing reliever facial hair, Melissa Etheridge, our Blockbuster experiencesi, Wade LeBlanc's new contract, and

  • For All Yo Kids Out There

    30/11/2016 Duração: 27min

You know the name, here's the podcast. We also talk about Jay Bruce and the CBA negotiations. Hopefully that will tide you over to this weekend.

  • Episode 30: "Where you lead, I will follow"

    28/11/2016 Duração: 01h36min

In Episode 30 of For All You Kids Out There, it is another slow news week in Metsland, so Jeffrey and Jarrett spend most of the first half of the show talking about Hunter Harvey. It happens. Also the Jean Segura trade. As this is nominally a Mets podcast we do talk about Gary Cohen and Tim Teufel. In the second half of the show we are jjoined by Skyler Kanfer of BP Mets to go over the 21st to 30th best prospects in the Mets system as news breaks all around us.And in the third half of the show we answer a question about...uh...Gary Cohen, and chat a bit about the pro wrestling. The Winter Meetings start soon we promise.

  • Episode 29: "Butch Goldstein and The Balsamic Kid"

    22/11/2016 Duração: 02h48min

In Episode 29 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett discuss the paucity of Mets news for the week. The Rule 5 adds quickly get sidedrained into a consideration of whether Phil Evans would make the Marlins Top Ten. Jarrett is very excited about Eric Campbell's NPB career, and we are both pretty copacetic with Neil Walker accepting the qualifying offer. In the second half of the show we are joined once again by Craig Goldstein to discuss the rest of the NL East farm systems, Jeffrey defends his Dominic Smith and Andres Gimenez rankings, we all compare Lucas Giolito and Robert Gsellman again, and no one really wants to talk about the Marlins farm system. In the third half of the show, Jeffrey and Jarrett barely make it through housekeeping without getting distracted, then we answer your e-mails, and then Brady comes on for an hour (where did I lose control of this show) to talk about Rick Porcello and the pro wrestling.

  • Episode 28: "All other forms of boredom advertised as poetry"

    13/11/2016 Duração: 02h15min

It's Episode 28 of For All You Kids Out There. It's been a weird week, folks. We've lost Leonard Cohen and Bartolo Colon, two of the muses of the pod. We will soldier on though as we try and figure out what happened to the 2017 Mets starting pitching depth, ponder the qualifying offers to Neil Walker and Yoenis Cespedes, propose Jay Bruce trades, and go deep on the upcoming Rule 5 draft protections. In the second half of the show we are joined by Trevor Strunk of Baseball Prospectus to discuss the Phillies and Braves prospect lists. We pick our sides in the epic Cozens/Hoskins feud and try and figure out how good the Braves will be in 2017.In the third half of the show we answer your e-mails and Facebook queries and then Jarrett talks about UFC 205 for a freaking half hour. You've been warned.
