John 14:27 says; "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." I wonder how many Christians have really come to understand the great fact that peace is our inheritance. Peace is what Jesus has left us. It is fundamental and cannot be taken away from us by any circumstance. It's your inheritance today... claim it!

During Thanksgiving week, with so much focus and attention on Black Friday deals, I'm reminded of another Black Friday that made all the difference in our lives. At the center of a biblical worldview is a radical recognition: the most horrible thing that ever happened was the most beautiful thing that ever happened. It's the day before Thanksgiving and I want to share a great passage of scripture with you. Psalm 9:1-2 says; "I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High." May the I wills in this passage be the you wills in our lives today.

Proverbs 12:25 says; Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up. May God give us opportunities today to bring some cheer to those who are struggling and feeling like giving up. Father, help us to be difference makers today.

Exodus 19:4 says; "‘You yourselves have seen what I did to Egypt, and how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself." In today's episode I share an experience my wife Susanelizabeth and I had this past weekend and it's blessing and encouragement. Waiting is often difficult because we equate it with inactivity. But waiting, which can also be translated as hoping, means to wait with expectation, to look for. During these periods of waiting, God is often refueling and refining us for what He has in store.

It's 6:14 AM here in Lynchburg and I'm up early and recording Morning Manna so I can get to my 7:15 appointment with an Orthopedic doctor. I've never been to one before but at 70 you get some aches and pains in your joints. So... today's episode is titled, "Bone Health"... go figure. LOL

The Parable of the Rich Fool is so powerful and insightful. When we are blessed financially, we can easily become arrogant and think that we are blessed because we are smarter, better, or just harder working than anyone else. Let's get some wisdom and perspective today from this parable.

There are a lot of names for Satan but one of my favorites is Ole Slew Foot. Have you every heard that one? Ole Slew Foot is having a hey day in our world today, but greater is He who is in us than he that is in the world. He's tricky, crafty and seeks to confuse us and destroy our testimony and influence. Be on guard today against the "wiles of the devil."

How important is God’s Word to you? When we humble ourselves before Scripture, acknowledging that it has been given to us by the living God, we will receive incredible blessings. We're facing pressing situations today and that's why we must be pressing into God and His Word.

OK... and yes, I've again created a new hybrid word. The word is "cheeffering". James 5:13 says; "Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms." Today's episode is a "twofer". In life we experience both cheerfulness and suffering. How we deal with it will be critical to our spiritual growth and development. I doubt that we will ever fathom the depths of God’s love for us, for His love is infinite and we are finite. But nonetheless the love of God is rich in mercy towards us, who were born dead in trespasses and sins. Let's talk about it on today's Morning Manna.

Psalm 34:18 says; The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. When emotions are strong, I find comfort when reading Psalms. The heart of a David is familiar with suffering and consistent in hope. This pattern emerges time and time again. The writer expresses an honest struggle, makes a request, and ends with a choice to trust in God. God loves to help us know Him and know His presence with us, especially when life is hard.

Isaiah 45:22 says; “Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other. Psalm 121:1-2 says; I will lift up my eyes to the hills from whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord,Who made heaven and earth. What are you looking at today? Is it your Facebook or Twitter feed? Is it your favorite news app? Trust me, God is in control. Let's keep our eyes on Him. Let's look to our Shepherd.

For many, Monday is a hard day to get up and get going. If that’s you, you have my sympathy. But let me also give you a word of encouragement – This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it! Happy Monday to the Morning Manna family of listeners.
