Back again, the voices of the Altered Egos Comics Podcast gather to talk about what is new to the shelf this week, 12/09/2015, and then what to expect for the next New Comic Book Day on 12/16/2015. ** EXPLICIT LANGUAGE WARNING! ** Also back again, our Marvel Hip Hop Variant Cover analysis for the Ramble On. 'Tis the Season for screw ups, and Jonathan screwed up the recording, so he had to re-record this episode alone, playing all the parts himself. He looks at the first week of comics delivered New Comic Book Day 12/02/2015, and then ahead to 12/09/2015. In post-Thankskgiving/pre-Christmas Holiday Haze, the crew take a moment to refelct on the things that they are thankful for. As always, the show rounds out with the gang's personal recommendations for the week, which Jonathan suprisingly remembers the others recommedations so the listeners didn't miss out.

We have flushed Carey out of the brush, and take aim at the the books available for New Comic Book Day 11/25/2015, and then set our sites on 12/02/2015. William joins us for the Ramble On to help us answer another question from Zack: What is the worst comic by a writer you like and the best comic by a writer you don't like. At the end, the gang brings you the recommendations for the week, complete with a potential Ramble On topic sneak peek.

While Carey is away, Will Watson guests in for the show with Bree and Kevin. Together with Jonathan, they take a look at the books that made it into the store for New Comic Book Day 11/18/2015, and then ahead to the next New Comic Book Day, the day before Thanksgiving! It is the middle of the month so the perfect time to look back on October's comic book sales, comparing the national numbers with the the store's sales numbers to get a picture of the market.

This week's New Comic Book Day fell on Veteran's Day. We at the Altered Egos Comics Podcast ask that you take a moment to remember that heroes don't wear capes, they wear dog tags. We cover the new and outstanding titles released on 11/11/2015 and look ahead to New Comic Book Day 11/18/2015. ** EXPLICIT LANGUAGE WARNING! ** We have a Special Edition Ramble On for you this week. Back in Episode 49 (Seven To The Power Of Two), Zack had us Ramble On about the Marvel Hip Hop Variant Covers and the retailer details behind ordering the covers. This week, we bring you the first in a multi-part look at the covers and the albums that inspired them. Wearing many hats (some of which can't even be named), Zane Schott is hip hop historian and appreciator, with deep knowledge of the roots of rap on into its present forms. Badr Milligan is the host of the Short Box Podcast (shortboxjax.com), a Jacksonville, FL based podcast that focuses on comic-book and pop-culture entertainment. Jonathan hosts

We bound into November talking about New Comic Book 11/04/2015 for a good long time, because there were a whole bunch of new series. And more coming 11/11/2015. Since the the episode is front loaded with so much new issue coverage, the Ramble On is pretty short. Carey starts us off with the recent Cullen Bunn Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) and nonsense around Aquaman, fans, fandom, and fanaticism. The show closes with the week's recommendations.

A new episode of the Altered Egos Comics Podcast, now with less coughing. 'Tis the night before Halloween, which means it is the night before Halloween ComicFest. The gang prepped the store for the second and less well known free comic book event and settled in to cover New Comic Book Day for 10/28/2015 and a look ahead to 11/04/2015. Not having a topic for the Ramble On doesn't scare this crew, no sirree. Inspired by the night, the crew stumble through treats for trick-r-treating, comic conventions generally, the North Florida Comic Con particularly, and the retail experience with it all. Finally, they bring on their personal recommendations for the week.

Apologies up front for Jonathan's coughing. He is weak and susceptible to germ warfare, i.e. exposure to the public. Fred takes time out the Jays and Royals contest to share thoughts and ideas on New Comic Book Day 10/21/2015, and then look ahead to the last New Comic Book Day of October. Carey, Bree, Kevin, and Sick Boy join in, and before giving their recommendations for the week, they all ramble on the loss of letters pages in comics, Fox News and Captain America, and the passing of legendary Sliver Age artist Murphy Anderson.

By hook and by crook, from Tinkers to Evers to Chance, the electronic voice phenomena known as the Altered Egos Comics Podcast is back. Its another week with a heap load of new series starting, so the episode is front loaded with a review of the new issues that arrived on New Comic Book Day 10/14/2015 and those that we expect for 10/21/2015. The Ramble On is pretty short, focusing on the September sales numbers in the store as compared to the nation. The quartet thing brings their personal recomendations for you.

And here we are at last, the final quarter of 2015, and the beginning of October. Despite the delays of Secret Wars, Marvel's All New All Different line launched on time. And He Who Counts Comics, They That Buy Comics, and the Whiskered One review all of those and every other new series title that made it into the store for New Comic Book Day 10/07/2015 and look ahead to 10/14/2015. The Ramble On is shorter than the intro this week, but still manages to cover two listener questions. One from Super Fan and Lord of Texas, Zack, about the Boom! Innovator Program, and one from the Vice President of the Carey Bourne International Fan Club, Regina Hüssendôrf, about books that are both disliked and "can't miss".

Episode 54 brings Jonathan and Carey back to the mic, joined by Super Couple and store customers, Briannon and Kevin. They talk about the few titles that made it in for the last week of September and then look forward to the first New Comic Book Day of October with more than a little trepitatious excitement. The Ramble On starts ramblin' on early, escaping the boundaries of its own section to be peppered throughout the show. The group theorizes, postulates, and just flat out opines about, among other things, Marvel's All New All Different that starts in October, comics we'd like to have with us if we were isolated, DC's single versus collected edition habits, trades versus deluxe collected editions, fan-service writing, and other random topics.

Season Two of the Altered Egos Podcast kicks off with a return to greatness! Carey and Jonathan are joined by Fred (Just Fred) and William. The Fearsome Foursome speak for some time about the few new titles that came out New Comic Book Day 09/23/2015. They look ahead to the 5th New Comic Book Day in September, 09/30/2015, before getting the Ramble On rambling on. Since this is the first episode of the second year, William leads a look back on the growth of the podcast over the last year, and Jonathan highlights which pieces of the last year's podcast to look to be repeated. The team also takes on another questions from Zack in Laredo (Thanks, Zack!), starting with which highly regarded comic figures just aren't our cup of tea.

And thus two score and twelve weeks comes to a close with the 52nd Altered Egos Comics Podcast episode. Kevin, Bree, Carey, and Jonathan recount for you the comics that made it into the store for New Comic Book Day 09/16/2015, look ahead to 09/23/2015, and even into the far future that is the 5th and last New Comic Book Day of September 2015. Before the week's recommendations but during some kind of coughing fit Jonathan was having, the crew go through more listener email and ramble on DC Comic titles being cancelled, collected editions versus single issue purchases, and reading versus collecting.

Sorry for the lateness. Third time has got to be the charm to upload this. This time out it is Super Couple, Comic Counter, and their faithful manservant Jonathan around the audiophonic recording apparatus conversating about sequential art pamphlets that arrived in the shoppe on 09/09/2015. They then phantagasmorically gave into the far horizons of 09/16/2015 and describe the wonder that will be those illustrated tales of daring due to appear then. Taking up William's mailed in question from last week, the Ramble On starts of going around the table talking about what our most memorable surprise in a comic has been. The Ramble On also takes on the house ad inserted into most Marvel titles this week, comparing that to DC Comic's wonderful Twix house ad, the angst and emotion caused to the artist and the reader, and actions taken.

Episode 50 this week is an intimate, one-side coversation between you and Jonathan, you listen (and we thank you for that) and he meanders and tries to make a point (which is par for the course). Jonathan cover's titles that made it to the store for New Comic Book Day 09/02/2015, and looks ahead to 09/09/2015. Super Couple and Dynamic Duo Kevin and Briannon Kruz return to the Altered Egos Comic Podcast to help Carey and Jonathan cover the New Comic Book Day titles for 08/19/2015 and look ahead to the next New Comic Book Day, 08/26/2015. It is Reader Mail Bag time this episode, addressing emails about our last episode and the Fantastic Four review, as well as a missive from Carey's Fan Club (complete with photo tacked onto this episode). The Ramble On covers another email from Michael Orgeman (remember him from Ep.16 and 17?), this time Michael asks what the podcast would recommend from the "All New, All Different Marvel". The crew dives into the list of titles and give their opinions on each before giving their recommendations for the week.

Jonathan and Carey are joined by just Fred to take a look at those comics that made it to the shelf 08/12/2015 and look ahead to those that are anticipated for the next New Comic Book Day, 08/19/2015. Before the trio bring you their recommendations for the week, they Ramble On about what it takes to bring a comic character or story from the page to the screen, starting with a look at the latest Fantastic Four film.

The Altered Egos Comics Podcast takes a look at New Comic Book Day books for 08/05/2015, and look ahead to what is coming out for 08/12/2015. They crew is joined by Altered Egos Comics customers Kevin & Briannon. Listeners of the show will have heard us talk about this super couple on our post Free Comic Book Day coverage (Ep. #33). These were the ones with the Robin capes that swam against the current in our crowd-sea to take advantage of the different in-store sales. They are interviewed about how they came into comics, their likes and dislikes, and collecting as a couple.
