The Boardgame Interview Room: TanTrump in Kickstarter
26/11/2019 Duração: 01h06minTantrump is a protest political game designed by Mike Selinker and Liz Spain that tries to breach the gap between gaming and protesting like all good pieces of art should do. Tantrump is a game that is likely to offend and elate in equal measures and I do hope it will get a reaction in you. Either because it offends or makes you happy, it will have done part of its job. And if it entertains you as a game too, then all the better! This is the first time we do video interviews in the channel and, as you can probably tell, the quality of the image is not great (thanks Skype!), so any advice would be very, very welcome. This has also been released as a podcast and you have the link to the episode a bit lower down, so if you want to take this on the to rather than watch, you can do that too. And you can find hundreds of interviews too! Hope you enjoy the show! The Hero's Journey - The RPG Interview Room
12/11/2019 Duração: 01h17minThe Hero’s Journey has been a love of mine for a long time. It is a tried and tested formula that renders good results. But do people use it to maximum effect? In this episode I spoke to Phil Harris, game designer and university lecturer on the Hero’s Journey, and we dig into the use of the Hero’s Journey as a framework more than a set formula. Hope you enjoy the show!

Relationships in games - The RPG Interview room
29/10/2019 Duração: 01h07minIn the last few weeks we have been chatting a lot in Facebook about relationships in games with a lot of people deciding they don’t want to have relationship in games because… erm… dunno… lots of reasons that make no sense to me, but hey… to each their own. Tim Korlewski, author and game designer of wargames and roleplaying games, asked me about it in Facebook and we decided to have a chat about it and see if we could make some interesting talking points about the subject. And here is the episode! Hope you enjoy the show! Check out our YouTube channel: http://bit.ly/GMSMagazineYT Follow us on #Twitter: https://goo.gl/moZgvK Our #Facebook page: https://goo.gl/YkbQIj

10 illnesses and conditions to use in your game: The RPG Room
23/10/2019 Duração: 17minThis quick guide to 10 illnesses that could be used in your game to make things harder for your players in a longer term way, rather than a wound that you can heal in no time with your magic. Please help this channel subscribing to it and leaving a comment. Most of us have suffered from illnesses in the past and we know how terribly debilitating it can be. Sometimes we have to spend a little bit of time in hospital to get them treated. In this video I talk about how some of these could be used and why in your #ttrpg to make the character lives a bit harder. Game On Tabletop: The Interview room Podcast
16/10/2019 Duração: 01h34sGame On Tabletop is a fairly new crowdfunding platform that was born out of the desire to cater to the board and roleplaying games community. Is it worth considering? Considering that games have been a huge amount of the money that has gone through the Kickstarter doors, having a business that caters specifically for us, game backers and game creators sounds like a good idea to me. I spoke with Laura Hoffmann, spokesperson for the company and managed to ask her a whole bunch of questions about the tools the platform offers and whether it can offer an experience worth investing in as a board game or roleplaying game creator. Hope you enjoy the interview!

Blades and Blasters. Interview with Seth Tomlinson
25/09/2019 Duração: 39minBlades and Blasters is a book created by Seth Tomlinson that funded in Kickstarter in 2018 and in 2019 has seen the light. It mixes science fiction and fantasy. But does it do it well? As it happens, the book seems to be full of great ideas and with some 14 alien races, technology, weapons, starships and a bestiary, it could be a great addition to my game evenings. Enjoy the interview! Consent in Gaming from Monte Cook Games RPG Review Room
18/09/2019 Duração: 13minConsent in #Gaming is a new free product from Monte Cook Games about the need to have consensual content and interaction in roleplaying games. This is my review. This podcast has been produced for www.gmsmagazine.com. Please help us by subscribing to the channel and liking/commenting on the videos. #MonteCookGames has a enormous history of writing fantastic #RPG content. Now, Sean K. Reynolds and Shanna Germain have produced a 13 pages #pdf guide about the topic of consent around the gaming table. As can be expected, it has created a fair amount of controversy, so I decided to take a look and record this #review. I have to say, I know #seankreynolds and #shannahgermain, so my view is a bit biased, but the quality of this book and the importance of the content are undeniable. You can download it from here: https://www.montecookgames.com/consent-in-gaming/ Let me know what you think! Kings of War: The RPG Interview room
04/09/2019 Duração: 42minKings of War is raging now in Kickstarter and should be funded by the time you hear this podcast. ¿Should you back it too? 03/08/2019 Duração: 01h07minLet's Play: Dungeons & Dragons Behind Bars is a documentary by filmmaker Elizabeth de Kleer that takes a look at the inside of some jails in the USA and the effect that playing D&D has on some of the inmates. Truly hope you enjoy this one and please, take a look at the Kickstarter. It is for one of the best causes I have ever seen in the world of RPGs.

17/07/2019 Duração: 01h09minMonica and Andrew Marlowe have been in my radar for a very long time now. I have known them for years and their involvement in the world of RPGs has interested me. But who are they? Well… we are about to find out. From their involvement in RPG Superstar and the Marlowe House games in Twitch, they have been doing a fair amount of work to get RPGs a good name and create content. Monica and Andrew left me wishing podcast episodes could last hours! Hope you enjoy!

The RPG Interview Room: Chivalry & Sorcery - the Medieval Role Playing Game
09/07/2019 Duração: 42minChivalry & Sorcery is a game that saw light of day around 40 years ago and some people decided to fall in love with it. ¿Enough to be at it around 40 years later? Well, this is indeed the case. When Steve Turner, from Britannia Game Design fell in love with Chivalry & Sorcery, he not just decided to play it, but also to keep at it for years and years and eventually buy the license so he could release more versions of the game and go to Kickstarter with the latest one. So I interviewed Steve Turner to ask about what makes Chivalry & Sorcery a game worth investing in. Hope you enjoy it!

The RPG interview room: Rachel Ventura and Ultimate Kingdoms
18/06/2019 Duração: 01h03minRachel Ventura has been a part of Legendary Games for a considerable length of time and managed the business development. Bu that does that mean? With a successful Kickstarter on its way to publish Ultimate Kingdoms, a compilation of Ultimate books from the company’s catalogue, I wanted to talk to Rachel about the operation itself rather than just about the book. Unsurprisingly, she knows exactly what she is talking about and the interview is quite revealing! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

10/06/2019 Duração: 01h17minGrimmerspace has taken the RPG world by storm in a Kickstarter project that will be remembered for a long time. But why? Well, since I happen to know the Grimmerspace authors, Lou Agresta and Rone Barton, I asked them to come to the show and have a chat about the project and the game itself. The RPG Interview Room: Ultramodern 5 with Chris Dias
04/06/2019 Duração: 43minUltramodern 5 is an evolution of a game that saw the light in 2016 and that now has funded successfully in Kickstarter for a new, bigger edition with more of everything. However, the initial version of this book got a Best Platinum Seller award in DriveThruRPG and it has some very good ratings and reviews, so it must be doing something right. Hope you enjoy the show!

The RPG Interview Room: Jeff Richard and character archetypes
22/05/2019 Duração: 01h08minIn terms of hours of play, I bet there are few people like Jeff Richards. Because the creative director for Chaosium exudes roleplaying games wherever he goes! And the thing is, you might think that Jeff just talks about Chaosium and Call of Cthulhu and Glorantha… but the topics we cover today are about character archetypes and how to use/modify them to suit your game. Hope you enjoy the show!

Marketing in RPGs with Ed Healy
29/01/2019 Duração: 01h02minMarketing in RPGs is a vast topic that I have spoken about a few times in the past. Now we have a proper expert to tell us some secrets! Ed Healy has been doing marketing in RPGs for a very long time now and his company has specialised in both marketing and logistics for companies that, being in a niche market like RPGs, have some very specific requirements. And that is what I wanted to talk to Ed about. Being a publisher in its starting stage, I find marketing and advertising a massive deal and very important to reach as many people as possible that will give me a chance to create a customer base to keep me going. I have to say this interview was a bit hard because I didn’t want it to be just about me and my needs as a publisher. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy the interview and listen to it more than once. There is so much information in there that it is hard to assimilate it all in one go. Ed dishes out an immense wealth of knowledge!

Joseph Carriker and representation in RPGs
26/12/2018 Duração: 01h09minJoseph Carriker has been writing games and working within LGBTQI+ activism for longer than most. ¿Does he have something to tell you? Well… yes. I have known Joe for a while now and, as well as knowing about his writing and line development for Blue Rose, I have known about his thinking and logic for a while, and every straight person should listen to what he has to say. Not just because he tends to nail it pretty much every time, but because he has a way to say things that work. If you want to listen, that is. And I hope you will listen to this episode, because – although I am biased – I think it is really, really good! Hope you enjoy the show!

Brendan Davis from Bedrock Games and House of Paper Shadows
13/12/2018 Duração: 40minBrendan Davis has been spearheading Bedrock games for a good number of years now. House of Paper Shadows is their latest instalment for the Wandering Heroes of Ogre Gate game. But what is it about? In this episode I talk to Brendan Davis about his recent release and how to tackle writing content from a different culture without falling into stereotypes and cultural pitfalls Hope you enjoy the show!

Jonny Hodgson and Bang and Twang!
19/11/2018 Duração: 01h01minJonny Hodgson has been a friend since I pretty much got into RPG media. Approachable as few, he has a stellar career that has recently seen some massive changes. What is he up to now? Hodgson is now doing something else. He has packed the art direction role he had in C7 and now he is making maps and designing games with his children and funding in Kickstarter. Why? Let’s find out!
