Deviant Robot Transmission

This episode of the Transmission saw us simultaneously live streaming the show on YouTube as a bit of an experiment. Whilst the quality of the audio and video was pretty bad it was still sort of succesfull so we are going to look at doing more of that in the future. Dave and Seb join Robin and Will and there is the usual loose collection of nonsense and idiocy. A fair bit of discussion about time travel and poop for example... I mean really what do you expect. In this very special Holiday-themed episode of the ComicsCast, we cover not only the obligatory Christmas-themed Batman and Ant-Man specials, but also cover some Halloween ones - as well as a Christmas episode of the Justice League animated Series and some Hellboy!

A rather shambolic 2 man episode of the DvR Transmission brought to you in lieu of our normal programming due to the website going offline. However we still manage to chat some first class BS about some film trailers, TV series and some video games. Plus some extended jazz for you music lovers out there.

This is the first of our December shows, and what better way to kick off the holiday season than with a discussion about comic book Families!! We start with Hickman’s and Fraction’s runs on Marvel’s first family, Fantastic Four, then move on to Epileptic, Habibi, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Daytripper, Ms. Marvel, and end with Maus!! In the news is a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that leaves us… Slightly less than impressed, and launches us into a discussion about Michael Bay films, and who watches them.

In our second episode, we discuss our comfort films - which may be why this podcast ran a bit long, but we certainly get to cover a wide range of films - from Jesus Christ Superstar to Hercules to The Killer! In the news, we also have a Batman v Superman trailer, Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming forays into television, and a new Ryan Gosling film!

Today’s topic is Technology in Comics - and wouldn’t you know it, in typical Deviant fashion, us being a bit underprepared results in one of our most interesting discussions yet! We talk Iron Man (obis), Batman (again, duh), Transmetropolitan, Batgirl, Life Model Decoys, Avengers Identicards, and many, many other bits of gadgetry and nonsense-science in comics!

In our inaugural MoviesCast episode, we appropriately discuss debut films of various filmmakers - Michael Mann’s Thief, Tarantino’s Reservoir Dogs, Aronofsky’s Pi, and Evan Glodell’s Bellflower! In the news we have a new Indiana Jones movie, Edgar Wright’s new Dreamworks project, and Star Wars smashing through 50 million in advanced sales in US alone. We also talk about some stuff we’ve been watching recently - Ghost in the Shell and Jessica Jones. This is a bit of a rambly one, but all that means is more film discussion goodness, as we can’t help but slip into Bond Movies, Mission Impossible, Star Wars prequels, Morgan Freeman films, and frankly all manner of other things.

This week's episode features the lovely Sofia Carrao and along with Will, Robin and Dzugas we rant on about some... well quite frankly odd things. We talk World of Warcraft movie, Pixels, Studio Ghibli and Scream Queens and tackle the deep philosophical questions such as how far Robin would have to go with Dzugas's fictional wife before Dzugas would have an issue with it... yeah it was one of those shows.

Dave joins us again, to talk about WEBCOMICS - what we like, love, and dislike about the format, why we’re not reading them as much as other comics, and why they can be great for someone starting out with the medium. In a very wide-ranging conversation, we cover Subnormality, XKCD, The Wormworld Saga, The Abaddon, Octopus Pie, Achewood, Oh Joy Sex Toy, and Fascist Friends!

Sorry for the break in the schedule, we have been struggling with TITANIC technical issues over the last few weeks and as a result we have been quite late with releasing our podcasts.
