Chamberlain And Chance

Caution, Stranger Things Season 2 spoilers in the final fifteen minutes of this episode! Chamberlain also spoils parts of Ys VIII but no one cares about that game but him, anyway. Chance has obtained a Switch and is having a better time than anticipated with Super Mario Odyssey. He also is so turned off by Mercy changes on the PTR that he barely played Overwatch. And Alex plays Wolfenstein The Old Blood in preparation for The New Colossus.

NeoGAF may be mostly gone but Chamberlain, Chance and Alex solider on. Chamberlain has found himself unexpectedly in like with Ys VIII, a Vita game masquerading as a PS4 game. Alex finished Battlechasers and was happy with most of it and Chance finished South Park: The Fractured But Whole and wishes that there was much, much more. Last goodbyes are said to Battleborn, the devil's advocate makes an appearance and someone got a really cool new coat.

It's two in love, one not so much in love with Cuphead and you'll never guess who would rather watch the game than play it. Chamberlain enjoyed (!) Knack 2 and dosen't really understand why, Chance cheated on Overwatch with two different RPGs and Alex found another Netflix show to bindge on. Also, EA can go to hell, which is nothing new, but listen this week for a new, terrible reason.

Chamberlain, Chance and Alex are together again and have much catching up to do. Chance plays something other than Overwatch (I know!) and suggests that everyone give Battlechasers a try. Alex finishes up a glowing playthrough of the X-Com 2 expansion and Chamberlain assigns Cuphead as required playing for anyone with thumbs. Agents of Mayhem is much worse than he said a few weeks ago and Knack 2 is not as terrible as they have been led to believe.

Technical difficulties this week leave you with a short dose of a much calmer, happier Chamberlain. All will return to normal next week. Buy Cuphead!

Things get a bit loud as Chamberlain played Marvel vs Capcom Infinite (poorly) a few minutes before going on the air. Chance has a much more relaxing, sublime time with Hob and Alex confirms that the X-Com 2 expansion is worth the price of admission. Any statements that Chamberlian enjoyed playing Overwatch, even a little bit, are patently false. 

Chamberlain is so frightened by Marvel vs Capcom Infinite that he has yet to leave the safety of the practice room, yet still somehow as a losing record. Chance, on the other hand, discovered that he and Alex are an unstoppable machine in Overwatch and have the world groveling at their feet. Or at least the Mercy changes are cool and Alex has a mean Lucio.

Chance does well on no sleep and has nice things to say about It and Alex achieves tranquility with Bojack Horseman and Destiny 2. Also Victor Vran is good, it doesn't matter if you have never heard of it.

Chance brings the movie news along with the Overwatch news and talks about not playing Undertale while watching Fences and The Girl With all the Gifts. Alex barely survived his vacation and Chamberlain attempts to declare who can and can't get paid to write about videogames. And then everyone talks about their siblings for some reason.

Chance is remarkably composed this week following the announcement of serious changes to Mercy, one of his two Overwatch mains. He also defends himself well from Chamberlain's needling about loot boxes and their level of evilness. Alex can't get enough of a good thing and plays Hollow Knight again and Chamberlain is slightly disappointed in Rock of Ages 2. It's still silly but did it have to be so hard this time around? Apologies to Drink Box Studios for Chamberlain's awful, awful flub.

There is Overwatch news, something that Chance brings every week. And there is Overwatch love, which Chance more than brings every week. Then there is the less wholesome side of Overwatch internet fandom that Chamberlain stumbled into. He paid the price and so will you. Alex is back to heap more deserving praise on Hollow Knight and Chance almost apologizes for seeing Alien Covenant.

Chamberlain and Chance join forces to pan Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Alien Isolation is on sale, play that instead. Chamberlain had only Prey to fall back on, a game whose ending is disappointing but was far less annoying to play. Chance still found time for Overwatch and there is a brief, unexplained detour into American Beauty discussion. Alex would be proud.

Alex is back and Chamberlain and Chance are so overjoyed that they share their personal crying triggers. There are video games discussed eventually, including Prey, Sundered, Overwatch (of course) and classics like Torchlight 2. They also try to cast Bioshock, the movie, with moderate success.

Please excause Chamberlain's funny voices this week. He fell in love with almost all of Pyre, especially with the parts he didn't have to play and the narrator's voice. Chance took all of the abuse the Sundered could muster and enjoyed it, returning for more. It is impossible to turn one's nose up at a souls light metroidvania. He also watched the live action Ghost in the Shell, something that he begs everyone else not to do.

It's tea time on the Chamberlain and Chance podcast. Chance tells two interesting stories about tea, Alex drinks tea to ease his angry throat and Chamberlain admits to never being able to steep just right. He also still has not finished Horizon. Alex brings the culture with thoughts on Lovecraft Country and Chance reviews Superhot and give his off the cuff reaction to Pyre. It's good!

Chamberlain makes excuses for not getting much farther in Horizon Zero Dawn by giving a quick recap of EVO 2017. Alex finally finishes Horizon and then punishes himself with new game plus in Bloodborne and Chance goes one for two with new Vita games and sooths his financial woes by returning to Diablo III. Anything is better than more Micro Machines. Also look up the episode title. It explains most of Chamberlain's personality.

Chamberlain finally takes it too far by bad mouthing Horizon Zero Dawn (because of couse he does) and Chance and Alex make him pay the price. Doomfist has arrived and Chace was right about his voice and Alex wishes he was just a bit younger so he could have enjoyed Spiderman Homecoming more. He still liked it, he's just getting old. And just in case you were curious, Micro Machines World Series is terrible.

Welcome Google Play Podcast listeners!  Chamberlain swears he can see Mass Effect Andromeda being excellent from his house but never manages to get there. Alex returns to the abuse of Bloodborne and Chance samples a few games little before playing Horizon again. Come back next week to see if he survives playing Micro Machines instead of Overwatch!

Week two of the post E3 lull sees Chamberlain still playing Mass Effect Andromeda, Alex going back to the Borderlands Pre-Sequel and Chance looses his mind (and his trinkets) to the Darkest Dungeon Expansion. Chamberlain gets to be right about something again, bringing the 'Chamberlain was right' count to two, and he will not let anyone forget about it.

Chamberlain, Chance and Alex deal with their post E3 hangovers by arguing about how real Beyond Good and Evil 2 is, how boring Mass Effect Andromeda's NPCs are, how much cocaine Stephen King has done, how addictive Overwatch still is and just how much self abuse is too much. About two and half years of Darkest Dungeon sounds just right.
