Chamberlain And Chance

Chamberlain was in a mood this morning and managed to convince Chance and Alex to complain about videogames. This may or may not provide a window into his neuroses. Chance plays and enjoys something that is not Overwatch or Darkest Dungeon and Alex continues his grand tour of classic PS2 RPGs.

Chamberlain is excited beyond reason about his Switch preorder. Chance and Alex do there best to bring him back down to reality and get his to act his age. Watch_Dogs 2 is suprisingly good, Dragon Quest 8 is a little skeevy and somebody played something that wasn't Overwatch. And then he played more Overwatch.

Chamberlain, Chance and Alex take on the PS2/oXbox (and Gamecube) era and pick out their favorites from the consoles that made 3D look good. There is nostalgia, good feels, and still time for headlines and for Chance to talk about Overwatch.

We did this last year and it turned out, well, go back and listen to the recap episode to find out. This time we try to do better and it can't help but be better because Alex is here this time. Chance finishes Darkest Dungeon just in time to start playing it again and Chamberlain has a sick, sexy voice. But it's not from playing World of Final Fantasy. At least that is what he says.

In January of this year Chamberlain and Chance made a list of the twenty games they were most looking forward to. Most of them came out. Some of them didn't. And not all of them were good. Join Chamberlain, Chance and Alex in this competative walk down memory lane. There is a winner, there is a loser, and then there is The Last Guardian.

In case you haven't noticed, Chambelain, Chance and Alex really like video games. These are their favorites of 2016. Not necesssarily the best, just the best for them. Plus Chamberlain and Chance fight about The Last Guardian. I think you can guess which one likes it which doesn't.

Can you believe that we have done this fifty times?  Neither can we but thank you for listening. This week Alex changes his mind about Final Fantasy XV, Chamberlain is underwhelmed by Dishonored 2 because he played it wrong and Chance falls in love with the gigantic winged puppy thing that he has always wanted. Chamberlain, Chance and Alex bring you their most incessantly cheery episode yet! Alex would marry Civilization 6 if it were possible, Chamberlain has had a wonderful tryst with Forza Horizon 3 and Chance, well, Chance is still true to Overwatch. All that and weekly headlines, embarrassing confessions and just a tiny bit of pre-Christmas cheer.

The internet in the US still works (for now) so Chamberlain and Chance are back with good things to say about Dishonored 2 and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, mean things to say about ReCore and just a dash of polite Canadian smugness. And then Chance talks about Overwatch who is not a sponsor of the show. Yet.

Chamberlain, Chance and Alex all retreat to their happy places for obvious reasons. No heavy political discussion, we promise. Call of Duty Infinite Warfare is good. Far Cry 4 is still good. Darkest Dungeon is even still good. You know what else is good? Cananda.Too bad the immigration site is down at the moment.

Halloween came and went with two spooky games: Yomawari Night Alone and the Outlast 2 demo. Chance got the good one and Chamberlain ended up with the leftovers as payment for enjoying Gears of War 4. Alex is still fighting imaginary wars, convinced that ancient world leaders are out to get him. 

Nintendo reveals the Switch and do Chamberlain, Chance or Alex have any hope in it? In a word, No, but listen on for why. In better news, Gears of War 4 is as awesome as Chamberlain hoped, Civilization 6 will eat up all of your free time, and the Vita lives, due mostly to Chance's constant nagging tweets.

What can possibly sour the mood when Red Dead Redemption 2 has been officially announced? A pending voice actors strike doesn't help, nor does Chamberlain losing his mind over a bugged quest in a bad game. Chance reigns things back in with his continued borderline fanaticism regarding Overwatch and Alex wonders why we didn't listen to him last week and watch Westworld.

Chamberlain, Chance and Alex are back after a brief technical break. They still talk about video games that you should or should not play and television that you really should watch. This week VR is dismissed, Darkest Dungeon is praised, the PC master race makes an appearance and Chamberlain plays another terrible game.

Chamberlain, Chance and Alex promise not to talk about anything not game related for at least most of this week’s episode. One of them is rightly proud of his accomplishments in Overwatch, the second returns to an old friend of a game made new with mods and the third is terribly embarrassed at the length (and depths) he went to trying to make No Man's Sky enjoyable. It never was and all he had to show for it was a headache the next day.

Chance has succesfully indoctrinated Alex into the Church of Our Lady Overwatch and starts to work on obtaining his weekly tithe of micro transactions. Chamberlain finishes Odin Sphere and fully admits that it was quite good and worth his time. All other nonsense stops just long enough for a real conversation about the Bioshock collection and what it has to say about society. No really.

Welcome to episode 40 of the Chamberlain and Chance podcast. Nothing is else is 40 now. Nothing at all.Chance reveals himself to be a digital drug dealer and has caught Alex up in his vicious Overwatch web. Chamberlain didn't play much of anything last week, instead opting for something called 'outside.'Outside will be replaced in three years by Outside Pro and Chamberlain will buy that, too.

Chamberlain, Chance and Alex have an actual conversation about the representation of the female body in games. Chamberlain plays the devil's advocate, Chance breaks out his soap box and Alex keeps the two of them in line as best he can. Overwatch is still being played, one of them has a crush on Geralt from The Witcher that he will not confess to, and the third just gets older and crankier with every passing day.

Welcome to a calmer, quieter podcast recorded long after our colletive bed times. Chance is back on the Overwatch wagon and Chamberlain is burned by SNK's promises. Again. Chance samples a 'questionable' game. Again. And Chamberlain almost destroys the entire evenings work by tripping over a cord. Again.

Alex joins Chamberlain and Chance in their desire for Konami to simply die. There are arguements about the best Bioshock, the best fighting games and what makes a quality adaptation of Shakespeare. Chance is back on the Overwatch horse, Alex wants to marry his old friend The Witcher 3 and Chamberlain is released from his brutal captivity by a below average JRPG.
