TSN1040’s Jeff Paterson says it was stunning to hear from Jim Benning that he ‘ran out of time’ with trying to sign Tyler Toffoli because October 9th didn’t sneak up on anyone in the NHL. Jeff also previews the Canucks & Leafs, looking forward to seeing how the Canucks respond after two straight losses.

TSN1040’s Rick Dhaliwal says when it comes to Sam Bennett, he’s been told the trade situation is heating up but Canucks don’t have enough assets to make a deal. Rick also says Tyler Toffoli wanted to be with the Canucks but they told him to wait, he waited & finally took the deal with Montreal.

Oiler GM Ken Holland joins Donnie & Moj to discuss being named to the management team for Team Canada’s men’s hockey team for the Beijing Olympics. Ken also says Roberto Luongo will be a different perspective as he played with or against most of the players that will be selected to the team.

TSN’s Jamie McLennan says the Canucks looked solid coming out of their Ottawa games, they had confidence & the top players were starting to find their game. Jamie says that continued against Winnipeg but they took a step back against Montreal. Jamie also says with a top player like J.T. Miller, his frustration level is more with himself because he demands so much from himself.

TSN’s Farhan Lalji says it was shocking to see how the Canucks played Monday night against Montreal because they played with zero hockey sense at every level, which is something we saw last year but in much smaller doses.

Brodie, he’s been enjoyable to play with & doesn’t get enough credit for the offensive side of his game. Morgan also says Wayne Simmons & Joe Thornton have been key additions on & off the ice.
