Wholistic or Holistic. How Different Parkinson’s People Approach Their Treatment
11/01/2017 Duração: 41minSince appearing on this show last fall, Dr. Hageseth has consulted with scores of what he calls Parkinson’s People (PPs). PPs consist of Person’s with Parkinson’s (PwPs), caregivers, interested family and many different professionals. Overall PPs are dissatisfied with allopathic medicine, but dissatisfied or not, many take medications with considerable benefit. The majority feel their neurologists do not take enough time with them or discuss other options with them. The Internet abounds with alternative approaches, but sadly, most offer little data or studies to support their claims. I have interviewed several PPs who tried different treatments but with no success. Holistic medicine should have a ‘W’ at the start of the word. Allopathic medicine helps, but it has its difficulties. I envision Wholistic medicine to include allopathic medicine and a healthy dose of Alternative Medicine as well. The following quotes sum up my approach to PD Don't battle PD . . . challenge it - better yet, dance with it. Do

6 Life Changing Energy Healing Methods
09/01/2017 Duração: 55minStress and trauma lurk behind most diseases, including Parkinson’s. John O’Dwyer has authored a book which describes a number of modern energy balancing methods for dealing with emotional stress, trauma and other imbalances. He will discuss energy healing and ways to reduce stress and trauma, often permanently. Some energy healing techniques you can do yourself and others can be done with a practitioner. Most doctors are not familiar with these forms of healing, even though some of them were actually developed by doctors. Energy healing has been used to reverse ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease), Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, PTSD and other serious conditions in some individuals. Is Parkinson's Disease Really "Degenerative"?
19/12/2016 Duração: 01h05minMany people hold the belief that Parkinson's is "degenerative" which means that people who have been diagnosed will exhibit a decline in their health every year. Listeners answered a three question survey to test out this assertion. Findings are announced today. Is everyone who has been diagnosed with Parkinson's really getting worse? You will be excited to hear the results. I also read the inspiring statements from people who answered the survey regarding what they are grateful for. Need continuing support for your recovery? The Autoimmune Fix
02/12/2016 Duração: 01h14minTom O’Bryan provides a powerful and cogent examination of the mechanisms underlying this modern-day epidemic, with over 80 million people affected by autoimmunity in the US alone, including top celebrities like Selena Gomez who suffers from Lupus and Michael J. Fox, the well known face of Parkinson’s Disease. A broad spectrum of life altering disorders, Autoimmune Disease includes diseases such as Hashimotos Disease, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ulcerative Colitis, Irritated Bowel Disease, Crohn’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, and conditions such as chronic fatigue, muscle and joint pain, and memory and cognitive dysfunction. The list is alarmingly long, and all tolled, adds up to the 3rd leading cause of death in the nation. For information about the probiotics Dr. O';Bryan recommends, visit: Dr. O'hhira's Probiotics

How to Repair the Body's Ability to Heal Itself
29/11/2016 Duração: 55minChronic illness, by definition, is a failure to heal in spite of interventions. When embarking on a healing journey with any holistic modality, we must first ask, “Can I count on my body to heal itself when all is said and done, after all the effort and expense? Holistic modalities work with the body to facilitate healing, but ultimately it is your body’s innate self-repair ability that determines whether you get well. Today’s chaotic environment is increasingly taking a toll on what we have always taken for granted: our vital ability to self-repair. Without it there can be no healing. Our “Innate intelligence” is a function of the Human Body Field, the “computer” that controls the physiology of the of the body. Through the work of Master Acupuncturist Peter Fraser, who spent 30-years mapping out the quantum electrodynamic structures of the Human Body Field in detail, we now have the science to assess and rebuild the compromised HBF from the ground up. Forget the Disease, Treat the Cause
12/10/2016 Duração: 01h31minThere is a strong view among adventurous healthcare professionals that Parkinson’s disease is not a distinct, separate “disease”, but one possible set of symptoms arising from one or more causes that create a degenerative process. Other “diseases” that may arise from these causes include Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Multiple System Atrophy, Motor Neurone Disease/ALS, Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, Cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Dementia, Type 2 Diabetes, certain cancers, and many others. When viewed in this way, likely causes become clearer and treatment options widen dramatically. Modern research is now showing significant benefits from “folk medicine” and “old wives’ remedies” like food choices, appropriate hydration, dancing, singing, gentle detoxification activities, self-love and meditation. Let’s look at Parkinson’s disease as a set of symptoms, discover the individual pathway that led each person to this point, and deal with the causes to create wellness. John Coleman ND is author of

Five years. No medications. Parkinson’s Improving
30/09/2016 Duração: 59minDr. Christian Hageseth, a 75-year-old retired psychiatrist has had PD for 5 ½ years. He tried three medications briefly early in his illness, but stopped due to side effects and expense. The day after his diagnosis he started studying yoga and now practices it daily. For exercise he does what he calls Mindful Power Walking and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT, also called Tabata). Finally, he has studied Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and meditates for 45 minutes each morning. He has fewer motor symptoms that are less severe since the time of his diagnosis. Last year he hiked up a 14000-foot mountain peak in Colorado. When meeting people for the first time most cannot tell he has PD. He now feels it’s his mission to train other Persons with Parkinson’s (PwPs) how to reduce their medications, reduce some motor symptoms, and live a fuller life. His program is called Integrating the BodyMind. www.sweatingoutpd.com

How a Maladapted Stress Response May be Playing Havoc with Your Brain and Health
16/09/2016 Duração: 01h01minThe limbic system is a complex set of structures in the mid brain that includes the hypothalamus, hippocampus, amygdala and cingulate cortex. It has been described as the “feeling and reacting brain”. It is responsible for the formation of memories and is constantly determining our level of safety. The Limbic System assigns emotional significance to everything we smell, see, hear, feel, and taste. It is known as the seat of social and emotional intelligence and is the brain’s anxiety “switch”. It is closely integrated with the immune system, the endocrine system and the autonomic nervous system. When not functioning properly due to injury or impairment, the limbic system becomes hypersensitive and begins to react to stimuli that it would usually disregard as not representing a danger to the body. This results in inappropriate activation of the immune, endocrine and autonomic nervous systems that can lead to varied and seemingly unconnected symptoms. My guest is Annie Hopper who is the founder of the Dynamic

Whole Brain Power for Brain Rejuvenation
31/08/2016 Duração: 01h02minThe fine and gross motor controls of the hands help to grow the brain. This brain growth occurs specifically on the surface of the brain (cerebral cortex) as well as certain anatomical areas of the hippocampi structures, the corpus collosum and the cerebellum. Science has proven that the growth of myelin occurs with improved procedural memories. When the myelin thickens on the axon sheaths, chemical changes occur and the master steroid called Pregnenolone is produced. This is part of the Steroidogenesis process that helps to maintain homeostasis within the brain. The brain has the ability to create new neurons in a process called Neurogenesis. There is now much evidence to support that the brain has much greater plasticity than previously recognized. This is encouraging news for anyone dealing with mild cognitive impairment. People dealing with Parkinson's can be inspired to become more proactive with the issues of doing certain brain exercises that can help to rewire both hemispheres. One of the tenet

Q&A with Naturopath Doctor John Coleman
24/08/2016 Duração: 01h01minThis program is an interview with naturopath doctor John Coleman from Australia who, to my knowledge, is one of the first persons to successfully reverse his own Parkinson’s symptoms. John offers his answers to the following eight questions which were previously submitted by members of my listening audience. My wife has been anemic just after experiencing Parkinson’s symptoms. Her iron levels are too low. What steps should she take to remedy this situation? Can I give my mother B12 vitamins for her condition? How does one deal with orthostatic hypotension (or low blood pressure)? I have tried many therapies over the past five years but the Parkinson’s symptoms continue to progress. Treatments included two stem cell treatments and other treatments out of the country. There was an initial improvement over the initial 6 months, but these benefits faded away. What supplements have you found that help the most?Have you seen a connection for many people of Lipitor (a statin drug developed to reduce levels of t

All About the Aquas
21/08/2016 Duração: 37minWhen you your doctor answers the question: "What can I do to feel better?" by saying - "Drink more water" Do not laugh. Your doctor is probably right. Dehydration becomes a serious issue for most people as they age. For whatever reasons, the body's mechanism for signalling thirst and distributing water to the cells becomes compromised with the aging process. Many people who currently experience Parkinson's symptoms take Aquas which were formulated to hydrate the body. John Coleman, ND, says that the Aquas were instrumental to his own recovery from Parkinson's. Jaroslav Boublik,PhD, one of the original developers of the Aquas, answers questions about the Aquas during the radio show today. For more information about the Aquas visit: www.aquas4life.com

Ten Secrets for Recovery from Parkinson's Disease
10/07/2016 Duração: 02h04minWhen I launched my research program in 2004 to investigate the causes of Parkinson's disease and the natural therapies that help reverse them, I thought my research would target perhaps one or two causes and one or two natural therapies that would address them. What I discovered did not fulfill my initial expectation. There are not just one or two causes and there are not just one or two therapies. There are many of each. During the show today I highlight the ten secrets I have discovered for recoverying from Parkinsons disease successfully. The secrets were all an inspiration for the creation of the Parkinsons Recovery Jump Start to Recovery Course. http://www.jumpstart.parkinsonsrecovery.com Robert Rodgers PhD Parkinsons Recovery

An Artist's Journey Into Parkinson's
18/04/2016 Duração: 01h04minRichard Melvin discusses his accidental discovery of having Parkinson's disease and how his father's experience with standard Parkinson's medications influenced his decision to treat the disease with (alternative) nutritional supplementation. In addition to giving detailed information about specific therapeutic vitamins, minerals, herbs and amino acids, he will talk about possible causes of the disease that are currently being investigated by scientists. In response to experiencing Parkinson's disease symptoms,he rendered 2 oil paintings entitled: 'Monochrome Epiphany" and 'Neural Tree". Olfactory dysfunction is an early symptom of Parkinson's and both paintings have a limited or monochromatic color scheme which symbolizes his temporary loss of the sense of smell. A New Idea for Balance
29/03/2016 Duração: 01h06minBal-A-Vis-X is a series of Balance/Auditory/Vision eXercises, all of which are deeply rooted in rhythm. Using sand-filled bags and racquetballs, the exercises address visual tracking deficiencies, auditory imprecision, impulsivity, balance and anxiety issues. Some exercises combine bags/balls with feet patterns. More than half can be done while seated. Requiring multiple thousands of mid-line crossings in three dimensions, exercises are steadily rhythmic, each executed at a pace that naturally results from proper physical techniques. Bal-A-Vis-X is a carefully modulated system of exercises that become increasingly complex OR simplified/modified for those with the most severe special needs. The youngest to use the program on a regular basis is three. The oldest thus far is 105. History Tells Us Muscular-Skeletal Problems Cause Parkinson’s
07/03/2016 Duração: 51minSince Noel Batten overcame several serious health issues himself as a teenager and then became qualified as a natural practitioner, he dedicated his life to helping others overcome what he calls “muscular rigidity” disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and MS. His treatment is based on 3 findings documented by Dr. James Parkinson while treating patients and carrying out autopsies on Parkinson patients who passed away. These 3 facts can be found in Dr. Parkinson’s book “An Essay On The Shaking Palsy” and how to get this historic book, along with Noel’s explanation on these 3 facts can be obtained from Noel’s website www.ParkinsonsDiseaseCure.com Noel has been treating Parkinson and MS patients with his unique approach, since 2005 and he has numerous “before” and “after” success videos on his website, of patients he has treated, some who have walked away from wheelchairs in a matter of only days. Noel’s message to people listening to this interview, is that if you have any symptom attributed to Parkinson’s d
