This week, Southview introduced our new group of Elders to the church community and gave them the opportunity to introduce themselves and discuss spiritual gifts. The new elders are: Nadine James, Dan McLuskie, Carl Blackmon, and Megan Kime.Southview recognizes Elders as men and women who possess gifts of leadership, are giving of themselves in service to the Church, and who are called to serve in this capacity. They are to care about and pray regularly for the spiritual and physical well-being of attendees, our leaders, and our community.

Guest speaker Priscilla Lisi Shi shares about the power of Jesus and the truth of His words, as proved in her own life.--Priscilla Lisa Shi is a gifted storyteller, speaker, prayer minister, Bible study teacher, and missionary. She is passionate about creating moments for people to encounter the living God through prayer in various settings at conferences, by teaching Bible studies, and through teaching and competitive sports. She has an older bunch: her sons, 17-year-old son Jalen; 20-year-old nephew Semisi; and 18-year-old brother Jaden, who are the absolute joy of her life. She and her husband, Jeff, live in South Riding with their younger bunch: Cloe, 2.5 years old; and Zoe, 4 years old.

In the final week of Reconnect, Pastor William challenges us to invite people to experience the grace we've found in Jesus. The good news of Jesus is meant for all... anyone can come to Jesus and receive salvation. It is a gift of grace, and God’s mercy is infinite - this is something worth sharing!

Join us this week as Pastor William kicks off a brand new message series that we're calling Reconnect. This week we'll focus on the power of forgiveness. Sometimes forgiveness is a process demanding a great deal of time and counseling. But it never stops being the goal for a follower of Jesus.

In week 2 of Not In It To Win It, Pastor William discusses why disagreement is unavoidable, but division is a choice. We can disagree politically and love unconditionally.

When it comes to potentially polarizing topics, our posture, tone, and approach will tell others all they need to know about what’s most important to us.

Volunteers will be organizing, sorting, and helping deliver Thanksgiving food to our neighbors in need this holiday season.
