God made us to worship Him and be in close relationship with Him. His desire is for us to be exclusively committed to Jesus' Lordship in our lives. Exodus 20:3-6

Exodus 20:1-3 - "You Shall Have No Other God But Me" (Matthew 22:35-40) - A s a good Father, God wants the best for us. He gives us clear guidelines of how to live in a manner pleasing to Him, set apart as His people, and He enables us to obey those guidelines.

This present life is filled with uncertainties. Some even believe that the only thing certain in this life is uncertainty. But there is certainty for this life and for the next and this is found in the apocalyptic visions of a young and faithful Hebrew man stolen from his homeland and exiled to a foreign land. The certainty and stability we seek is not found in this world, but in the God who created it and is responsible for its future.

What God promises will happen according to his time and Isaac is a type of King to come that shows us this. - Genesis 21:1-7

A thankful heart leads to a giving heart. As we cultivate thankful hearts for God's goodness, provision, and presence generosity that impacts the world will flow naturally (and divinely) from our lives. - Exodus 35:4-9; 36:1-7

We are not to offer thanks to God only occasionally or only when great things are happening; instead we are to give thanks in all circumstances. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 -

Thankfulness leads us into the presence of God, but ungratefulness always leads us away from God. We can develop a lifestyle of thankfulness by intentionally expressing our gratitude and practicing appreciation throughout our day. - Luke 17:11-19

Christian leaders must have emotionally healthy attitudes and relationships. We will be leaders who have self-control and emotional maturity. 2 Timothy 1:6-7

Christian leaders will suffer at times and should speak truth in love to those who oppose them. We will lead with love and truth in times of conflict.- 2 Timothy 2:22-25

Christian leaders are to be servant leaders to the "least of these" in society (God, Family, Others). We will lead others by serving them first. - 1 Timothy 5:3-25

Church leaders are called to believe and live out Christian convictions. - 1 Timothy 3:1-13

Christian leaders are to allow their character to be trained and developed for righteousness. Our actions should be motivated by a character shaped by God's Word. - 1 Timothy 6:10; 2 Timothy 3:16; 4:7
