Righteousness is impossible to achieve through any worldly means. It is only through God's grace that we are made righteous and that is by the blood of Jesus. God chose to redeem us from sin, but the cost was high. Here we discover that cost.

God has given us several wonderful gifts which should be cherished. Three of the most significent are discussed in this passage.

The Law of Love is the most difficult law to keep, therefore the Rabbi's preverted it to conform to their personal abilities. Jesus takes His followers back to his original statements concerning love and reissues His command. It's tough love, but it can be attained through His power.

The Mosaic Law said, "an eye for an eye...", but Jesus nixed the way people applied the 3rd law of physics to their social life. Jesus taught that Christianity is a 2nd mile religion.

Jesus' teaching moves from adultery directly to divorce and the keeping of vows. To understand His teachings on divorce, one must understand God's design for marriage. Here we see it all come together in God's perfect design.

Some issues seem to be off limits to the church today, but Jesus never bowed to the political nor social pressures of his day when it came to addressing sin. There is never an excuse for unfaithfulness and we learn today how and why Jesus addressed the sin of adultery with his followers.

Jesus presents the concept of Counter Culturism to his followers. He uses the most heneous of crimes, murder, to present the reality that only God himself is the ultimate judge of sin. For the follower of Christ, life always is in conflict with the culture of the day.

The revival services are over, but has the church actually, or is it actually experiencing revival? Now that the evangelists have gone home and the daily services have ended, What's Next? The answer is up to you!
