CCR reporters Denise O’Connor & Jayson Mansaray caught up with director Travis Mathews at the world premiere of his film; ‘I WANT YOUR LOVE’ (IWYL) at the Hackney Picturehouse, opening the London FRINGE! FILM FEST… San Francisco has been synonymous with full on gay male sexuality for over 50 years now. IWYL is a thrilling homage to the city and it’s queer legacies. IWYL, is a tender but uncompromising film about the importance of sex, love and intimacy. A brief synopsis of the film starts the podcast. FRINGE! IS BACK 12th – 15th April 2012 After last year’s storming success, East London’s spunky alternative film festival is back! Camden Radio’s Denise O’Connor and Jayson Mansaray present a podcast about the event: Four days of over 30 films, events, art and parties Fringe! is excited to showcase this year’s ‘confetti burst’ of queer culture – with many events free! Highlights include the first ever screening of Travis Mathew’s hotly tipped I Want Your Love – UK premieres of army cadet love story Private Romeo plus docs (A)sexual, Audre Lorde: The Berlin Years and Short & experimental film hosted by cult les mag Girls Like Us. This week the Camden Community Radio team brings you some fun and interesting things to do and see during the Easter bank holiday weekend. There’s a special family orientated Easter event at Lauderdale House and various gigs at Koko and The Camden Jazz Café. In Art and Entertainment there’s an exhibition analysing the mind as matter at welcome collection and the Tricycle Theatre has a brand new Norwegian film called Headhunters from the producers of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Meanwhile throughout the Easter weekend Global Music Foundation present various Jazz workshops at Kings Place. Other highlights this week include Cirkus Cirkör at The Roundhouse, Sunday Live acoustic showcase at Bar Vinyl, Hangover lounge at The Lexington and Sunday sessions at the Camden head (formerly Liberties Bar). The Easter weekend doesn’t stop there as there’s a poetry reading at The Torriano Meeting House as well as loads of events throughout April at Keat’s House. Lastly there’

Nearly five thousand s patients will be left without a GP due to the Camden Road Surgery closing. A dedicated protester brought the issue to the Camden Community Radio door step, literally… Camden is taking on a novel approach to street drinking with a new initiative: The Camden departure lounge, Lollipops, squash and flip flops will be part of the wardens tool kit for the drunk. The London Housing Strategy is supposed to ensure that people get the housing needed. Will low and middle income people be pushed out of Camden?
