King David said "...I will guard my ways that I may not sin with my tongue. Our tongues are powerful and can be used to commit sin or can be used as a fountain of life and blessing. Today, Dr. Estep teaches us to use our words to bless God and others.

Today, we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Dr. Estep reminds us of that wonderous first Easter morning when the tomb was discovered empty - and the boldness of His followers once they realized that He had risen.

Jesus' mission was finished at the cross. Without the cross, Easter is just another day. Today, Dr. Estep reminds us of that mission: Jesus was the atonement for our sin, He conquered sin and He conquered death.

Salvation is free...you cannot earn it by doing good deeds. Yet, James seems to contradict that statement by claiming that "faith without works is dead." Today, Dr. Estep helps us to understand a "faith that works."

In today's scripture, James is appealing to Christians to grow up. Spiritual maturity is measured by the way we treat others. Dr. Estep reminds us that we should have an attitude of grace and love. We have been called to love all of mankind - a sign of maturity.

Many Americans believe in God, yet are deceived about what that really means. Today, Dr. Estep reminds us that as "Doers of the Word", we should not be deceived by worldly "religions" but we should be receptive, submissive and changed by God's Word.

Satan tempts us all - primarily in our weakest areas. However, temptation is not a sin unless we act upon the temptation. Today, Dr. Estep reminds us that with the temptation there is a way of escape - as long as we keep our eyes on God.

James encouraged contentment, regardless of our circumstances. Today, Dr. Estep discusses how wisdom helps us to be content through our trials in life.

This is part #1 of Dr. Estep's study on the book of James. As believers, we are to "count it all joy" when we face trials and tribulations in our lives. Today, Dr. Estep reminds us why we should face our trials with joy.
