It is taboo at times when a christian admits they are suffering with depression. The trials or our faith often does result in depression to be quite honest and it is a symptom of fallen man from sin. We are afterall sinners however we are saved and we have a Savior in Jesus Christ along with the very word of God that not only comforts us but gives us the strength to overcome depression. My intent was to flesh out the verse 1-20 in Mark chapter but the Lord always will have His say praise God. We come to a very powerful chapter where Jesus is confronted by a demonic possesed man after crossing into Gentile territoty. When we reach verse 5 is where I beleive we all can relate when crying out in our pain and praise God, Jesus responded. One of the most common problems every christian faces is when the storm comes and how much it can overtake us especially in areas we are supposed experts in. In many cases this expertise we boast is knowing God and His will, until the storm reveals just how much we do not undestand the Lord God Himself. God judges how we use our light in this world. Where He places the lamp which is us matters greatly to God because He expects to see fruit. As this world grows ever more intolerant of the truth so have modern christians that now seek to sugar coat the message to save them from conviction by the Word of God. The Sword of the Spirit now is asked to the Spoon of Accomdation. Beloved, many pulpits are populated with accomodating preachers, teachers whom practice sensitivity trainig not to speak the truth but gloss the problem so the person not be harmed. The truth is now hate speech and love looks like an episode from Mr Rogers Neighborhood. We must strive to want and crave the truth so we can grow in Christ.
