Wednesday of the Tenth Week in Ordinary Time. Father Dave discusses our search for fulfillment. He explains that fulfillment is to bring to completion or reality something that has been desired or promised. Father Dave points out that there are many in our society who are still longing for the fulfillment of racial justice, and challenges us to unite our prayers and actions to bring about fulfillment. Pentecost Sunday. Father Dave discusses the power of the Holy Spirit, and how we need to call on the Holy Spirit more than ever. Friday of the Sixth Week of Easter. Father Dave discusses the feeling of loss the apostles felt after the Ascension. He points out that Jesus tells us in the gospels that no one can take away our joy. Seventh Sunday of Easter. Father Dave discusses contradictions and how we don't like them. He explains that today's Gospel, in which Jesus prays to the Father, seems to contradict itself. Third Sunday of Easter. Father Dave compares reading the Scriptures to sticking around for the credits at the end of a movie. He discusses today's Gospel about the road to Emmaus. The disciples on that road were discouraged following Jesus' crucifixion and thought that this was the end. However, they recognize Jesus again in the breaking of the bread. Monday of the Fourth Week in Ordinary Time. Father Dave discusses endurance while suffering. He uses the example of Saint Blaise who was martyred and King David who endured much suffering.
