114: Eggs, Beef & Your Local Farmer
18/07/2016 Duração: 40minIn today's show I interview "regenerative farmer", Wenona Boucher from Chockalog Farm in Uxbridge, MA We discussed her term, regenerative farming, which is not just organic, but also leaving the land better than you found it. She advises that we should look beyond organic and go back to heritage breeds of chickens and cows. Wenona told us what we should be looking for when buying eggs. Labeling has become very deceptive and buying cage free or free range may not be your best choice. She said you want to buy an egg that has come from a pasture raised chicken. This means that the chicken is eating grass and bugs versus feed. You can download my shopping guide for eggs at this link. Or you can text me at 44222 and send me the word download114 and I will send you the infographic about shopping for eggs. We also talked about grass-fed beef which for Wenona means nothing. You can have a cow that has been grass fed most of it's life, but they can finish it off with grain and antibiotics.

105: Hex Performance - A New Way To Clean
03/05/2016 Duração: 30minHEX founder, Drew Westervelt, was playing professional sports when he noticed that his apparel and tech gear would still stink, even after they had been washed. He discovered that odor meant bacteria was alive and well in his laundry. After researching traditional laundry detergents, he couldn't find a solution (traditional laundry detergents haven't evolved in 50 years, and most simply mask odors rather than eliminate the bacteria that cause recurring smells). Furthermore, bacteria plus the scratches and scrapes of sports could mean infection – even illness. Drew searched for a solution and partnered with scientists in the cleaning industry. And that's where HEX Performance was born. Instead of relying on old methods to clean new fabrics, HEX started from scratch to develop the best clean inspired by today's active wear. The result is an evolved science that works on all fabrics, delivers a better cleaning experience, proactively protects fabrics against future stink and stains, and offers a host of extra be
