Our world is full of conflict. In the news, our workplaces, our families, and our relationships. When trying to overcome a conflict how do we respond? Do we fight harder? Try and outlast the competition? Eye for an eye? God invites us to consider an alternative way to disarm others. Kindness. It is a secret weapon that is rarely used, but is exactly how God disarms us.

Are people inherently good or evil? It's been a question that has been wrestled with by philosophers and theologians for thousands of years. When you get squeezed by life circumstances, does goodness come out? This week we will look at the related juices of goodness, integrity and wholeness.Think of how much your relationships would benefit from an increased dose of that fruit!

When you squeeze a fruit you get… juice! If you squeeze an orange you get… orange juice! If you squeeze a mango you get… mango juice! You get the point. But what happens in your life when you’re squeezed? How does that juice affect the relationships with those around you? There are different fruits that produce different results in our lives. God isn't faithful to us because we deserve it; He is faithful because He is committed and consistent. The fruit of faithfulness in our rapid-paced, full-of-choices, short-term-commitment society is difficult at the best of times, and especially when life squeezes us. Faithfulness means committing to consistently filling yourself up with the Spirit, so you can consistently live the life Jesus has called you to.

Gentleness… is a strong hand with a soft touch. In a world of harsh critics, jaded opinions, and abrasive personalities, how are we to be gentle in a rough and tough society? Gentleness is a byproduct of being controlled by the Holy Spirit, it is strength under control. Let us explore together how gentleness breaks down rigid defences and can be one of our greatest witnesses to unbelievers.

This Sunday marks the beginning of a new journey at SunWest as we have the first service in our new home! Just like a campfire draws people in, we want to create an atmosphere for people to gather. Let us together, consider how we can play a role in creating this type of environment for others in South Calgary.

The word "prodigal" means: spending money or resources freely and recklessly; wastefully extravagant; having or giving something on a lavish scale. There is a famous story in the Bible called the Prodigal Son. Yet this story is actually about a Prodigal Father. The two sons in the story represent two different groups of people that are equally lost and in desperate need of a Prodigal Father. Which son are you and how does the love of the Father blow up your misconceptions about yourself and Him?

The Bible refers to God as Father regularly. The Bible also uses many other titles for God. Out of all the different titles, Mother is not one we usually associate with God or use to describe God. Yet male and female were both created in the image of God. How does the language we use to describe God impact our understanding of who He is? During “The Church I See” we’ve been dreaming about the Church that God is calling us to be. This has some very pragmatic steps, and this Sunday we are taking a significant faith step into that future reality by launching our Capital Campaign for the purchase of a building in Midnapore. Come join us for our “All In” Sunday as we kick off a two week campaign period that will conclude on April 22nd. We are praying and believing that God will do more than we could possibly ask or imagine!
