When we live with the awareness that God Himself is with us wherever we go, we can be defined by strength and courage rather than fear and dismay.

The God who created and sustains the heavens by His great power and mighty strength imparts that power and strength to those who hope in Him.

In what is one of the most majestic paradoxes of the Christian faith, the strength of Christ is most perfectly manifest in the midst of our weaknesses.

Among other things, the apostle Paul prayed that the strength of God would be evident in the lives of those who were devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

There is a divine strength promised and revealed in the lives of those who find their identity in the One who is the source of all strength.

As we prepare to celebrate the 235th birthday of the United States of America this 4th of July, our special guest speaker is Ron Snyder of Wings of an Eagle Ministry in Eugene. Ron is also the Oregon state coordinator for Christian Heritage Ministries based in Washington D.C. We welcome our friend Ron to Springfield Church as he talks to us about "The Foundation Stones of America.".

Our speaker for the morning is our new youth leader Lori Sutton. She is currently studying for the ministry at Nazarene Bible College working toward being ordained as an associate pastor in the Church of the Nazarene. Lori will be sharing with us how God has brought her and her family to this point in her journey as well as her vision of reaching out to the young people of our community with the love of Jesus Christ.

The media recently has had no shortage of coverage of high profile men behaving badly. God is still calling men who will rise above the normalcy of sin to pursue righteousness and godliness.

The extraordinary event of Pentecost was that it empowered for holiness ordinary people, in an ordinary setting, who were doing nothing out of the ordinary other than offering themselves completely to God.

The pursuit of holiness involves putting away an old way of life that reaped sin and indulgence in exchange for the new life in Christ empowered by the Holy Spirit that leads to the fullness of eternal life.

In our quest to live a holy life, we absolutely must avoid the two extremes of legalism (all law) and antinomianism (no law) and find the balance that Jesus so perfectly exemplified.

It's been several years since Renee's father has preached at our church. He is a graduate of Nazarene Theological Seminary and a retired officer (pastor) in The Salvation Army living in Caldwell, Idaho. We're so glad to have him join us this weekend and share with us from God's Word.

We begin an important sermon series today looking at the heart of what it means to be in the center of God's perfect will, living a holy life as a reflection of the very nature and character of God.

We are blessed to have at Springfield Church Steve Buss who is the Director of OneHope Lane County. OneHope is bringing together likeminded churches, pastors, and ministry leaders from all over Lane County for the purpose of joining together to show the love of Jesus. Our special guest is Josh Williams, special assignment missionary with the Church of the Nazarene. His current assignment is to develop and implement technologies that help missionaries communicate with each other to more effectively communicate the Gospel to a world that desperately needs to hear about the grace and love of God. Josh is a graduate of Northwest Nazarene University and Nazarene Theological Seminary. You will be inspired by how God is using our missionaries, our prayers, and our support to touch the world with love.

Nothing is more satisfying than the holy consummation of a marriage between husband and wife, and between Christ and His bride, the church, as vividly portrayed in the Scriptures in the metaphoric references to the marriage supper of the Lamb and the great wedding banquet.

The marital union between husband and wife metaphorically represents the mystical union between Christ and His church. May both unions reveal the covenant relationship that God has with His people.

Divorce unfortunately is as common in America today as baseball and apple pie. By the grace of God and the determination of a generation committed to marriage, the divorce rates in our country and in our churches can be reversed.

Protestants have two sacraments - baptism and Holy Communion, whereas Catholics have seven, one of which is marriage or Holy Matrimony. There are many things we Protestants can learn from our Catholic friends when it comes to appropriating marriage as sacrament.

The intimate union between husband and wife is a most holy, exhilarating bond able to be fully expressed and experienced exclusively in marriage.
