This week, for the Wilson-Addis Endowed Lecture, we welcomed Dr. Ellen F. Davis to the pulpit. Dr. Davis currently serves as the Amos Ragan Kearns Distinguished Professor of Bible and Practical Theology at Duke Divinity School. The title for her lecture is: "Abraham and the Origin of Intercessory Prayer."

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed J. Brent Walker to the pulpit. He currently serves as the executive director of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty, and is both a member of the United States Supreme Court Bar and an ordained minister. The title for his sermon is: "Four Centuries of Fighting for Religious Liberty" and is drawn from Acts 4:18-20 & Galatians 5:1.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Truett alumna Jamie McCallum to the pulpit. She currently serves as the Associate Pastor to Youth & Congregational Life at First Baptist Church, Waco, TX. The title for her sermon is: "The Users and the Used" and is drawn from John 6:25-35.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Tonya Vickery to the pulpit. Rev. Vickery and her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Vickery, are our co-pastors of the day. They serve together as the pastors of Cullowhee Baptist Church in Cullowhee, NC. The title for her sermon is: "Leave the Jug Behind" and is drawn from John 4:5-52.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. William Carrell to the pulpit. Dr. Carrell is Professor of Christian Ministry and Director of Church Relations at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The title for his sermon is: "Facing the Futility, Holding the Hope" and is drawn from Romans 8:18-25.

This week at our Community Gathering for Worship we welcomed Travis Cottrell, presenter of the Spring 2014 Hearn Music Innovator Series at Baylor University. He currently serves as Worship Pastor at Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, TN, and for the last fifteen years he has served as worship leader at Beth Moore?s Living Proof Live conferences.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Pike Wisner to the pulpit. Rev. Wisner serves as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, Tyler, TX. The title for his sermon is: "The Simple Life of the Minister" and is drawn from Micah 6:6-8 and Matthew 11:28-30.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Harry Rowland to the pulpit. Dr. Rowland currently directs church missional engagements for the CBF, and his sermon is drawn from Acts 17:1-8

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed the Rev. Dr. Harry Blake the pulpit. Dr. Blake was the first field secretary of the Southern Christian Leadership Movement in the 1960s, under the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He currently serves as pastor of the Mount Canaan Baptist Church in Louisiana.

Dr. David E. Garland, Dean of George W. Truett Theological Seminary, provided the convocational address at Truett's Spring 2014 Convocation. The title for his sermon is: "The Challenge of Ministry" and is drawn from Mark 1:32-39.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed student preacher Chansin Esparza to the pulpit. Chansin is the recipient of this year's Robert Jackson Robinson Preaching Award. The title for her sermon is: "Spiritual Intuition" and is drawn from Luke 1:39-45.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Jeff Johnson to the pulpit. Dr. Johnson is currently the president of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The title for his sermon is: "The Principality Principle".

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Paul Powell to the pulpit. Dr. Powell is the Dean Emeritus of George W. Truett Theological Seminary. The title for his sermon is: "Learning From the Long Walk" and is drawn from Psalm 71.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. Jeff Warren to the pulpit. Dr. Warren serves as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church McKinney. The title for his sermon is: "No News is Bad News" and is drawn from Colossians 1:21-23.

This week for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Dr. David Hardage. Dr. Hardage currently serves as the executive director of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. The title of his lecture is: "Texas and Texas Baptists" and is drawn from Matthew 28:18-20.

This week, for our Community Gathering for Worship, we welcomed Don Guthrie to the pulpit. Don Guthrie currently serves as the pastor of First Baptist Church San Antonio. The title of his sermon is: "He Gave Some as Pastors".

For the 2013 Parchman Lecture Series, we welcomed Dr. Richard J. Mouw to the pulpit. Dr. Mouw recently retired after having served as the president of Fuller Theological Seminary for 20 years. Dr. Mouw currently serves as Distinguished Professor of Faith and Public Life at Fuller. Dr. Mouw's second lecture is titled: "Why God Likes Ancient Chinese Vases".
