Life can be difficult at times. What is the cure for our personal troubles, and the issues facing our world and our planet? Is there no cure? Is the universe like the eye of a dead fish: cold, uncaring, unreflective, unresponsive? Should we just put on our happy faces and make the best of it? Or is there a genuine cure, real help for today, and real hope for tomorrow?

Exploring key themes for Palm Sunday. When Jesus comes to town he does not always meet our expectations but he always meets our needs. When Jesus comes to town there are very often things going on in His divine plan which we do not yet see.

Jesus on his way to Jerusalem hears the shout of Bartimaeus, a blind beggar sitting on the edge of the road. What ensues, is a conversation of healing and then restoration of Bartimaeus's sight. The story tells us about the moment a man meets Jesus and is changed for ever and reveals to us: Jesus who stops, Jesus who serves and Jesus who saves.

The 9th commandment instructs us not to lie against our neighbour, so in this message we will think about the power of words, the impact of lying and how as believers we might live differently.

Jesus disciples were both astonished and afraid as they traveled to Jerusalem. For a third time Jesus predicts his death, and this message helps unpack this key announcement.

Beyond and behind the command not to murder there are three areas we explore in this sermon. Is all killing, murder? Where do universal moral laws come from if not from God? How do we understand the challenge from Jesus to think not just about murder but anger?

This passage in Mark is a tale of four interactions. It's a tale in which it seems all parties had the best interests of someone else at heart. The people had the best interests of their children at heart. The disciples had the best interests of Jesus at heart. Jesus had the best interests of the disciples and the children at heart. Starting with Mark 10 this message looked at the testing question that Jesus is asked by the Pharisees about divorce and then considered the wider question of divorce and remarriage.

We all have different experiences and associations when it comes to parents and family. This will affect our feelings when it comes to the command to honour our father and mother. What does honouring mean and not mean - in our context today?

Alone and afraid, Hagar flees her desperate circumstances. But there, in the desert, God sees her, and provides her with gentle direction and his gracious promises. We find in this story instruction and encouragement to face the darkest of circumstances.

This message looks at the fourth commandment and unpacks what practising Sabbath might look like for us today.

The call to discipleship is one that confronts the need to deal with sin. This message unpacks the hand, foot and eye passage and invites the listener to take up the challenge of making radical choices as a disciples of Jesus.

Our oldest youth group were in and involved and this service. There is more to the third commandment than the words we use about God. It includes the way we talk about God but also the way we carry his name and his followers.
