As such, I thought I might put together something to accompany the gradual warming, a little mix to go along with the first open-window days of the season. Plus, I did promise you kind and patient listeners a shot of good old Grateful Dead. Wait no more. This mix reaches back 50, 40, and 30 years to 1968, '78, and '88 for material. The tracks range from jams to cowboy songs and it hangs together despite the disparate eras represented. After the music, I do spend a few minutes detailing where the cuts come from so as to provide a little bit of context. So pull back the curtains, throw up the sash, crank the stereo and get on down. We've got a special and unusual episode for you this time around. I had the great fortune to join my good friend and head of Osiris, RJ Bee, at a Golden Gate Wingmen show late last month. The show, at The Hamilton Live, was the kick-off for a short tour and it was a blast. To make things even more exciting, we got to meet and interview the band. Jeff Chimenti (keys, vocals), John Kadlecik (guitar, vocals), Jay Lane (drums, vocals), and Reed Mathis (bass, vocals) were friendly, forthcoming, and entertaining. You'll hear our interview with the band and about an hour's worth of tunes from the show in this episode. Thanks to RJ Bee for making the interview happen. We begin the Spring thaw with a visit from my good friend and the founder of both the Helping Friendly Podcast and the Osiris Podcast Network, RJ Bee. RJ wanted to talk about Bobby songs so that's just what we'll do. We also, spend a fair amount of time discussing the work of the late John Perry Barlow. Barlow's writing for the Grateful Dead along with his advocacy for an open internet via the Electronic Frontier Foundation are both keys to the very existence of this podcast. He will be missed and forever held in the utmost esteem. In addition to chatting about Weir, Barlow, and being a Grateful Dead fan, RJ and I assembled a set of tunes for you to enjoy. We've made it through January and the days are getting longer. Although the men in the top hats have disturbed the groundhogs, hibernation isn't quite over so we have a one-part episode this month.
