Yo!!! More special for you. The incredible Marcus D!! Marcus D was born and raised in Seattle Washington. Hes been putting out music since he was 16 and despite being mighty young, hes already had a prolific career in music. Hes often compared and seen as a spiritual successor of Nujabes but hes far more than that and has created his own incredible sound and legacy. Hes one of the most popular and talented producers out. After a lengthy convo about the Corona Virus and how its effecting our lives in Tokyo, we get into the legacy of Nujabes 10 years after his passing, the increasing popularity, gentrification & stagnation of the "lo-fi beats" landscape, breaking the rules, Marcus' career and moving to Tokyo, video game music, and a lot in-between. 21/02/2020 Duração: 01h03min

Japanese emcee, Ohga, has had a long and amazing career. He first found hip-hop culture while growing up in New York but right around adulthood he would return back to his parents home country of Japan. In both places hes felt somewhat outside of each culture but it also provided him with a unique outlook on both. We talk a lot about his personal life experiences in both the states and here, writing raps in Japanese and English, how the languages differ grammatically and how poetic devices in English differ from Japanese. We talk about his early love of Biggie and a bunch of other stuff. The big homie, Shux Wun of Music & Strength, also joins in as guest co-host. He and Ohga have been friends and working together for several years. Check this episode out and make sure you tune in to part 2. Drops on Tuesday.
