He was leader, composer and arranger for the new age/jazz ensemble Confluence, and Sliders, an eight-piece band featuring 5 trombones. Besides keyboards, he has been known to perform on trombone and hammered dulcimer, and sang second bass in Chorale Connecticut. For 10 years he was the organist/pianist at North Guilford Congregational Church and is currently at Milton Congregational Church in Litchfield. Loren had just released a new album Home Again.

The album draws inspiration from classic 70s Art Rock albums by the likes of Steve Hackett, Peter Banks, Steve Howe, and Jan Akkerman. Acclaimed artist Paul Whitehead painted the cover image. Other covers by Whitehead include “Trespass,” “Nursery Cryme,” and “Foxtrot” by Genesis. In the 80's I worked for the largest Oil company in Canada, Fridays were the layoff day of the week. The joke was, if your name plate on your door was there Fiday morning, you were safe for another week! After a teribble start one wonders if Rudy G can beat The Mooch in longevity. I think rudy is on day 4, so another full week and Mooch's record is safe

Known for his production résumé, musician/engineer/producer Gary Tanin (Jack Spann, Sam Llanas, Roger Powell, Daryl Stuermer) was recruited to collaborate on Fitzpatrick’s solo opus due to arrive April 27th. Nearly three years in the making, many musicians provided their artistry along with core members of David’s band. Fitzpatrick and Tanin spent countless session hours crafting the melodies and arrangements that resulted in the compositions on the album. “It was an extensive undertaking that could only have been steered by this songwriter’s single-minded passion for perfection,” explains producer Gary Tanin, “It took David's uncompromising excellence, courage, persistence, and dedication to the art form. I'm extremely proud of our achievement.”
