G’day everyone, we are now fast approaching the end of 2015, which has been music wise, another exceptional year of the style of electronic music we promote. So many new namescoming to the podcasts over that time, creative, entertaining, soul searching and by in large quality sounds throughout, and not forgetting our regulars who have produced some outstanding albums as well, to many to mention. Our first issue of November is no exception to what has past, you have it all here from Berlin School to synth-rock, ambient to experimental which gives us a diverse range of sounds in the styles we love, and as always on our website you can see bio pages of all the musicians appearing on our shows to. G’day folks, Mick is now back in Oz after his latest trip to the UK and surprise visit to the Electronic Circus gig in Germany, with musicians, Michael Shipway, Paul Ward and John Dyson, who as a trio, headlined the event. “THE TOMORROW PEOPLE” is an album that has been slowly building for years in 4 different studios in Japan and the UK. One of the issues of this album is that it’s such a big production I’ve yet been able to put it together in its final state. Especially the recording and arranging of the needed male and female opera vocals and other studio musicians. However I think it features some of my best work and want to put it out in its unfinished form for people to listen anyway in the meantime, before I go through each song rebuilding and remastering for a release date which will probably be in a couple of years. The theme of the album started from and is based on the birth of the Internet and the attributes of our ever increasing connected planet. Mick always enjoys putting these editions together and is amazed there are so many musicians producing some dam fine sounds, from the dark side of ambient music to the full on cinematic scores. On a sad note, after the passing recently of the Tangs, Edgar Froese, Patrick Kosmos and Zenith magazine co founder Steve Roberts, we hear that David Allen, founder member of Soft Machine and Gong, has been fighting cancer for some time, but has now given up treatment, with possibility of only six months to live, our thoughts are with David and family with this devastating news. Hi Everyone, welcome to our second podcast in January which is certainly showing some classic sounds from the world of Electronic music, I think it’s going to be another great year. As tributes pour in for the sudden death of Tangerine Dream’s founder member Edgar Froese, all us were shocked last week by the passing of Steve Roberts who graced the EM scene with his knowledge, wit and enthusiasm for many years. Steve was co-founder of the EM magazine Zenith and a regular contributor of reviews for various labels and our previously printed Magazine Sequences. Our lasting memories of Steve are the humorous and witty articles he wrote for our magazine under the name of the Silver Surfer, he will be sadly missed.
