28/05/2019 Duração: 02h39minWelcome to another special edition, devoted to UK electronic music artist, John Dyson, whose musical career has spanned nearly 35 years, with his first band, Wavestar, formed with David Ward Hunt, (who sadly passed away in 1999), releasing 3 albums in the 80’s and going solo with 6 more over a 20 year period. In 2018 saw the formation of new Wavestar 2, accompanied by accomplished composers and studio-technicians Paul Ward and Stephan Whitlan, releasing the debut album “Nightwind’s. Once described as a "cheeky chappie" by none other than Sir Paul McCartney, John Dyson has been a leading light in the UK Electronic Music scene for many years. We also would like to add, that he is one of the kindest and friendliest people we know, with great stage presence. Do check out the bio on his musical career and photos on our website. We kick off with John’s all-time best-seller “Evolution”, his first solo release on the Surreal to Real label, set up by John with help from musician Anthony Thrasher, who played on his e

07/04/2019 Duração: 02h58minShocked & sad to hear recently the passing of two fine musicians, Charles Thaxton & Gert Van Santen, who have graced our genre in electronic music over the years. Charles known as Char-el, was a California based synthesist and keyboardist/composer, performing in many bands and solo concerts for over 40 years, mixing in the progressive rock/symphonic new age territory. Gert Van Santen was a member of Wave World, a Dutch/Canadian multimedia project attracting quite a lot of attention for its fascinating music and enchanting shows. During live performances, their impressive music was blended with computer-generated graphics of a virtual world, projected on huge screens, both these musicians were very likable, creative human beings, with the legacy of their music, which will live on in our hearts & minds. You will hear on this edition, Andy Pickford’s new release Biosphere, which has a very filmic feel, full of strong rhythms, sequences, melodies, and symphonic themes. Sequences Podcast No 147
21/03/2019 Duração: 02h58minIt seems that our podcast no 145 was extremely popular with our listeners going by the stats. Funny enough it was one of Micks shows he enjoyed compiling. Hopefully you will be again enthusiastic to hear what we bring to our latest edition, which brings such a diverse energy of electronic sounds. It was a privilege to bring Clifford Whites music to Sequences, with tracks from his 4 albums in the Synergy series, melodic upbeat & relaxing tunes. Ambient side filled with such dynamics & spacial depth from Astovia, Neostra & going deeper into the dark side with NIMH. Something a little bit different from Craig Padilla with his long term friend Marvin Allen, melodic and rhythmic, surreal and drifting, the result, a timeless adventure through illuminating guitar tonalities and majestic synthesizer vistas. If it’s modular sequencers you want, you are going to enjoy Adrian Beasley’s album Machine Code & d’Voxx arranged Berlin School inspired sequence lines, wrapped up in a gorgeous blanket of modern ambience on th

Sequences Podcast No 139
04/12/2018 Duração: 02h56minAs I reported in our last edition, the heat here in Oz has certainly risen to the high 30’s, with a serious outbreak of 125 bush fires in Queensland now, thankfully not on the scale those poor souls in California had to endure. The scenes of utter devastation of whole communities was unbelievable. Quite the opposite from all this heat here, Sydney has had a months rain in 2 hours, extensive flooding, powerlines down & severe disruption to transport, this is not the norm this time of year for us, global warming? We’ve certainly had bumper package of new music in the last few weeks, already compiled for our next one in December. It always surprises us the depth of the music we get, so diverse and creative, I believe this is where we are different to other podcasts in this field of electronics, with such a large mix of sounds, giving the listeners to tackle some serious good vibes. A few to mention, Andy Pickford’s new opus Objects & Expressions 1, with Vol 2 just released, our first connection with TXT recor

25/08/2018 Duração: 03h02sG’day everyone, it’s coming into fire season again here in Queensland and they’d started early, 300 reported throughout the state this week, many started by moronic arsonists, but not as badly as we’ve seen in other parts of the world so far. It’s another one of those editions, with quite a mix of diverse musical sounds in the realms of the electronic universe, the mysterious to the melodic from our creative musicians. Must mention this cool kid Ansgar Stock, at the tender age of nine composing & playing live in our European side of electronic music. We do need a younger generation to keep our scene going for the future. Our tribute to Udo Hansen who sadly passed away recently is a live track from the Krefeld Festival 2017, joined by Albin Meskes, again as the group You, originally a trio who were prominent in the late 70’s to early 80s. Our blast from the past comes from the Belgium group known as Age, with a track from the early 80’s vinyl release Landscapes, re-release on Groove recently with extra bonus
