Very little of our modern Christianity requires surrender. God never wanted mankind to be alone or separate from Him; therefore, He invited us into an intimate partnership from the beginning. Yet, man chose to drift and our "solution" to the drift was religion, law, and attempting to conform by self-help and personal discipline. When we have desires that are sponsored from a wrong source, we may be alive and filled with passion, but we are disconnected from the fire of purpose. When we live in close relationship with Holy Spirit, He causes us to show up and emerge. We show up when we live authentically within the boundaries God has outlined for us. But, we emerge as we respond to His voice and hide His words in our hearts. Bible: Proverbs 29:17-19; 1 Thessalonians 5:19; 1 Samuel 15-17

As we learn to walk in the Spirit, we are learning to be sensitive so we don't grieve Him or quench His fire. We grieve the Holy Spirit when we sin by doing a wrong thing. Jesus told His disciples that He had to leave, so that "Holy Spirit" could come. Why, when things were going so well, did Jesus "need" to leave? So that every believer may experience what He experienced at His baptism. The validation and acceptance from a loving Father to His children...and that is who we are. Hearing is probably the most important thing in our relationship with God. Did you know that what we ponder about or store in our hearts can affect "how" we listen? We can actually "hear" with a bias; therefore, be careful "HOW" you listen. Bible: Luke 8:4-15
