The holidays are coming- when we take time to be thankful and give thanks. But do you mean the words? Or do you just say them? Today, we begin looking at gratitude, which is more of an attitude, than meer words of thanksgiving.

Today is the last installment of the Visions and Dreams series on the Story of Joseph. In the final chapters of Genesis, we get some key points that will tie the entire Biblical story together, as well as give us hope for the coming Jesus.

We have fond memories of our past. Hidden inside, we sometimes miss the ways that God has changed us, grown us, made us different. Joseph, is going to be confronted with his past this week, and we see a changed man and family. You cannot be in God's presence without being changed.

Have you ever heard that God has a plan for your life? Of course. Now, does that plan include only good things? Does it include hard things? Is God just as in control during the difficult as the blessed? Joseph has experienced it all in Egypt.

What is your measure for success? How do you determine it? What makes you feel successful? The world throws a lot of competing ideas of defining success- but the Bible may point to a different understanding.

We can sometimes feel like we thought life was going to be in one direction, even called by God towards it, and yet we end up in a different place. Joseph felt that way. However, nothing stopped God's plans to save His people- not sin, not struggle, not imprisonment.

The final sermon as we have looked through the letter of 1 Peter. We are called to Stand Firm in the midst of suffering, with a different vision for what our lives should be like.

Our expectations of the Christian life can be different from the life we've been told. Peter asks us the question, "why are you surprised by your suffering?"

As we continue to work our way through 1 Peter, Peter brings us a new kind of call today- to be ready to suffer.

Suffering can spread from one person and affect all of the relationships around us. Can holiness do the same? Can the Holy Spirit within us affect all of those around us? The church and Christian life don't stop suffering, but we can be a part of the rebuild. To rebuild takes a community.

How do we bend like palm trees under the weight of life's storms and suffering?

Does God hear the words and prayers of those who do not believe in God?

We are beginning a study through the Letter of 1 Peter. In the letter, Peter talks a lot about suffering or trials. Today, Peter lays out the foundation for us in dealing with suffering. We must be grounded by our belief in Christ and our salvation.

This is the final look at our VBS theme verse. We had an amazing week of VBS!

What makes you feel secure? We all want to feel secure and safe. Today's sermon will look at the use of horses and chariots in the Bible to discuss from where our true security comes.
