We want to break things up with an adaptation from comics with League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. We’d both seen the movie in the theaters and found it enjoyable. So when we heard a lot of the fans of the comics were annoyed by the depiction, we added it to our list. Britain needs to assemble a nineteenth century collection of superheroes drawn from public domain fiction. We agree that the comics are better thought out and the characters are a bit deeper. We found it all and you guys get so much to listen to while Weltall is missing.

This week on Anime Pulse we got an exciting new member of the Vshojo cast, lame 5-year awards, and the dark side of idols. Up first Joseph is tanning things up after enjoying some Dave's Hot Chicken, and Andrew would like to know who our favorite angels in anime are. Then in the industry news a city gets rich after finding some cash in the trash, taking unwanted pictures of clothed individuals is now illegal, and Amazon is trying to make us BadFrown. Lastly in the previews Joseph ends up isekai'd into another would with his older sister who kills the legendary hero, and Andrew is leading the fight against the institution who is trying to take down the idol industry.

Do we need to introduce this movie? The grand pappy of the summer tent pole film. The movie that made Spielberg a household name and helped launch a shift in the way movies were made. We bring a discussion of Jaws. If you read the book, you went into the movie wondering where the dicussion of small town politics was. Or maybe you missed the affair between Mrs Brody and Hooper. This week on Anime Pulse we got Heroes of Might and Magic V, planning on how to kill your classmates, and Pokemon Cards are now banned to adults. Up first Joseph talks about finishing Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and starting the worst Heroes game ever, meanwhile Andrew has been traveling up and down and wants to know how we'd go about changing something in anime to make it better. Then in the industry news we got topics like a life sized figure with soft skin, the creator of One Piece is refusing to green-light the live action movie, and new rules regarding the sale of Pokemon cards. Lastly in the previews Joseph is isekai'd to a world without a god and saves a thirsty princess and her thirsty best friend from some monsters, and Andrew is just a small town girl moving to the big city while fantasizing about killing their classmates.

It’s been a bit since we did a request. What will we choose using our incredible randomization process? The Last Unicorn. The book was written in the late sixties and has a lot of elements of a classic fairy tale. Having somewhat vague magic, ancient kings, curses, and romance. The movie cuts quite a bit, including the rather important harpy tits dangling all about. It was made in the early eighties and it’s usually noted as being animated by Topcraft. A number of members of Topcraft would break out to found Studio Ghibli. Our opinion is that the book tops the movie. This week on Anime Pulse we got a whooper of a show today, as we celebrate our 800th show with guests from the community, previews from the spring season, and a little industry news. Up first Joseph and Andrew brush aside the IRL news and industry news to talk with the community, introduce them, and cover the community answers to this week's topic. After waving goodbye to the community and saying our fond farewells, we go over a little Q&A sent into us by non-live community members before wrapping up with the previews as usual. Joseph is reincarnated into the body of a recently murdered teenager, only to be summoned to another world to stop a war. Andrew on the other hand awakens in the body a sacrificial maiden in a fantasy novel, and needs to avoid a way of being a plot device for the true protagonist.

We broke down and inserted another coin to enable two player mode. That’s right, we went and dual reviewed the Double Dungeons Dragon movie. Or maybe we just went and saw The Super Mario Bros Movie[2023]. In spite of all the internet whinging that Chris Prat was voicing Mario which was surely a sign of how the west has fallen and millions must die. What can we really say about it? It’s an Illumination movie that doesn’t induce suicide. Prat does fine as Mario. Ana Taylor-joy does OK as Peach. Seth Rogen is there and should probably not. This week on Anime Pulse we got recording early on an Easter Sunday, the most un-responded to community topic, and cool French medals. Up first Joseph thinks back on Easter bygone as he fills us in on his completion of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, and Andrew is preparing to travel so we end up doing a much earlier show. Then in the industry news Andrew is quitting Anime Pulse to become a pro Birdie Wing player, and the current president at studio Ghibli retires. And finally in our final reviews episode before we take a small break and then go into the previews, Joseph is yelling at a short stack and her idiot senpai to get on with it and Andrew is burning off his stress singing metal at a karaoke bar with a panda.
