Great chat with Comedian Stephen Mullan about his unique childhood growing up in a baptist family. His Father was a minister of a baptist church but he grew up in a council estate in Co.Cork. We also chat about his difficult adolescence which lead to hospitalization and recovery. Now on the other end of that time he chats about the journey to stand up and his even more important role as husband and father. To get the podcast back up and running I decided I would chat to Karl Spain about dealing with the loss of a mother. He had lost his Mom back in the early days of our comedy careers and I wanted to ask him about dealing with grief. We also chatted a lot about finding humour in loss. I just decided to record where I was at 5 days after my mother died. I had recorded an episode on the shift podcast the night my mom died and I was happy to have a record of how I felt that night. It was the 7th anniversary of my Father's death this week. This is a chat with myself having a think about the grieving process. In Ireland my Father's death was very public and I was very open about it afterwards. 7 years later, what do I think of it all now. Is there a right way to grieve? Did I do it wrong.
