Davis would set an FIA record in 1952 at the Bonneville salt flats with a home made streamliner that would take away the records set by the German Auto Union race cars of Hitler's Nazi regime. He would then go on to conquer the USAC Sprint Car circuit and eventually make his way to the Indianapolis 500.
