Westwood Radio Podcast

A postponed Monday morning breakfast show from yesterday didn't in any way affect the quality or performance of our radio club broadcasters. Once again we had slick and fluent presenting along with some fantastic scripts which made for the best possible start to the day!

We're back after a couple of weeks break with another podcast packed with news and updates from around our school. Mother's Monday, performance poetry and even a Mystery Skype are all covered in this energetic 25 minutes.

After a snow and illness break we were back in the studio today for yet another fantastic live show. With plenty of top features, excellent hosting once again and great music to set up the weekend just perfectly, the studio was buzzing with fun! Plus we now have the ability to take live calls on air, so listen in for a chance to call in future shows...

Today some of our children performed some fantastic poems for the whole school in our performance poetry assembly. They all did so well!

This morning we were joined in the studio by two of our mums for a Breakfast Show Mother's Monday Special and what a time we had! With highly professional and polished presenting from everyone, music especially for Mother's Day and even mums behind the mic, this is one show you don't want to miss. Well done everyone!

This afternoon Thistle class had fun describing and writing their memories from playing in the snow over the weekend. We then came into the studio to record them for you to enjoy!

With a snow day closing the school, today's broadcast was from Studio 2 as an outside broadcast, where Mr Rockey sat in for the team. Keeping to the usual mix of chat, top tunes, news and features, it was a pleasure to take the microphone for the first time and fill in for such outstanding broadcasters.

Another fantastic breakfast show this morning from the team. With a range of top features, great music and superb presenting from our up and coming broadcasters, this was the best way to start your day. Well done everyone!

We're back after our half term break with another stunning show packed with features, fresh beds, new jingles and the best broadcasting talent. With confident and assured presenting once again, we had a another fun afternoon sharing school news, Olympic updates, weird news and a brand new Name that Noise. Top hosting from Josh and Dougie made for another cracking show.

In the final episode of this term we look back over the learning of the week and showcase the brand new Westwood Heritage website for our Oral History project, which is gaining both momentum and attention. Plus, a look at our class blogs, Westwood Radio success and everything that's coming up in the week after half term.

The last show of this term and what a way to go out! More expert hosting from Izzy and Ellie and we also said goodbye to one of the team for now as Oscar is away for three months so we won't share a studio with him again until May :-( However, the usual mix of top stories, another giveaway with Name that Noise and a report on the superb West Wilts Dance Festival all made for a top drawer show. Well done everyone.

Also, our portable radio station arrives with another inspiring day with Russell Prue.

We were delighted to be joined once again this afternoon by friend of the school, Russell Prue of Anderton Tiger Broadcasting. With a great mix of topical news stories, the latest from around the school as well as top interviews from BETT 2018 with Russell and Al Kingsley, CEO of Netsupport Software, there was something for everyone in today's show. As always, the best music and we love the messages we receive when we are on air. With Russell reading weird news, what better way to start your weekend?

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing a balanced and fun curriculum, this week we performed our very first Ocarina assembly, live for parents. We have been enjoying learning the Ocarina as a whole school, staff included as a way of developing our creative, musical and artistic skills. It was a pleasure to listen to the children perform . Enjoy.

Another fine way to get your week started as our breakfast show team at Westwood Radio take to the airwaves. With the perfect blend of school news, information topics and shout outs to start your Monday, our young broadcasters from Y1-6 all excelled themselves once again with their talent and professionalism.

In this week's Talk podcast we catch up on Story day across the school as well as the work the eco-council have been doing to improve our energy saving and recycling. There's news on the school disco and new build project as well as a very enjoyable Come Dine with Me experience at Christchurch school and looking ahead to Ocarina day and BETT 2018.
