Another week, another episode of Westwood Talk. Looking back on the amazing Summer Fair, plenty of exciting learning throughout the school and many new skills being developed with a visit to the University of the West of England for a Science Fair and Chance to Shine Cricket.

In this final term of the year we have already been exceptionally busy with some exciting learning and activities. So much to look back on in week's one and two, including a visit from Helean Hughes, Director of Education and Skills for Wiltshire, Tim Gilvin starting our brilliant Innovation in Music Project and so much more...

Today was another very special show as welcomed dads and male family members into the studio for our Father's Friday show. With plenty of off-script dialogue, great features and professional delivery, our team were on good form again and this was the perfect way to get ready for the weekend.

Our Breakfast Show team are back with another sparkling show to start your week. Two new broadcasters join us too, so a big welcome to Charlie and Wesley, who did a fantastic job!

What a way to begin the final term of this academic year! Outstanding hosting, some of the very best off-script chat and discussion and a professional sounding show from start to finish. Huge congratulations to the team today for a show that was well paced and almost an hour long!

In preparation for the hugely exciting launch of #GoPlaces in GoBubble on Monday 3rd June, I caught up with founder of GoBubble, Henry Platten to chat with him about this exciting opportunity. With a busy last week and many sporting activities and the scarecrow trail to cover, including a live broadcast from the Westwood Radio team, there's lots packed into just 16 minutes of this Westwood Talk!

As part of the Westwood Scarecrow Trail 2019, we broadcast a live 2 hour show from the school car park. During the show we spoke to some trailgoers, presented features and school pre-records and had some great chat and off-script discussion in a style of show we've not tried before. Huge thanks to Matthew, Emily, Benedict and Lucy who gave up their bank holiday afternoon to present on the show.

After taking a trip to BBC Broadcasting House last Friday for The Young Arias awards, I sat down with the boys from the Word on the Street team to talk about their experience, what they have learned and how they feel broadcasting has helped them. Completely unscripted, this is an inspiring podcast.

With a revamped show order and new features, today's broadcast was another reason to demonstrate why #educationradio is such an exciting medium. First class hosting and plenty of off-script dialogue from our talented team. The best way to start your weekend.

In the first of today's #GoPlaces travels, Highland Elementary school linked up with us at Westwood, a virtual journey of some 3503 miles! Using the GoBubble platform, we all posted a photo of what makes us happy and then used Skype to discuss our pictures and what makes us happy face to face. Brilliant!

After something of a hiatus and simply no time to slip behind the microphone and share our many exciting happenings at our amazing school, here is a bumper round up of four weeks of activities. Including, class news, BBC Wiltshire at Wiltshire Heights, SATs and a trip to The Young Arias award ceremony, this is testament to the fact that we never stand still at Westwood with Iford School!
