Ben and Aadil are joined by returning guest Carl Marshall, now of Salopian Brewery. They have a big discussion on the recent ruling by the Portman Group on Lost and Grounded’s label art, then switch into chat on the new Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo. Its episode 200! Lucy came down to Bristol and we went on a bit of a pub crawl. First stop was the Left-Handed Giant brewpub. We had Kriek (Boon), Kriek Boon, All On Green (Burnt Mill & Other Half), Wide Awake (Verdant & LHG), Time Will Tell (LHG), Making Planets (LHG), and Up Late (Verdant & LHG). We spoke about Space Harrier, All of the Dooms (and mods), backwards compatibility and nostalgia, franchise vs beer naming, Dreams and asset stores, and the best TMNT games and turtle. It’s a new year, a new decade, so catch up with Francis and Lucy in the latest Out of Rupees episode. They look back at 2019 for Nintendo, look forward to the decade ahead and of course, no episode would be complete without Francis telling you about a game from 2007 he has been playing…  

It is a packed episode this week as we’re all drinking and have games to discuss. We chat Wide Ocean Big Jacket (again), Pax Nova, Scourge Bringer, changes to Humble Bundle, Luna The Shadow Dust, Ministry of Broadcast, 7th Sector, Kunai and Life is Strange 2. Lucy drinks beers from Brew York and Yonder, Aadil has some from Reservoir Dogs and Ninkasi whilst Ben drinks Boundary and Wild Horse.

Ben, Lucy and Aadil discuss Ben’s time with both Death Stranding (again) and Still There, All the games Lucy has played, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Kentucky Route Zero and Wide Ocean Big Jacket and finish on the question what should Aadil play? Aadil drinks beers from Lost & Found and Drop Project whilst Ben drinks Boxcar and Verdant.

This week Ben and Lucy chat what they’ve been playing and get snarky on the weekly gaming goings-on. Lucy discusses Coffee Talk and The Pedestrian whilst Ben chats The Shrouded Isle. Ben is drinking and has Brewdog Overworks Cosmic Crush Raspberry Sour and Bad Co Off-Tempo Milkshake IPA.

Ben and Lucy get together to discuss more game delays, Frog Detective 2: The case of the invisible wizard, LA Noire and Rockstar, the top ten selling games of 2019 and Death Stranding. Ben drinks American Pale from Gloucester Brewery and Big Cat Stout from Stroud Brewery.

The gang return to chat Lucy’s time with Super Crush KO, game preservation, Ben’s time with Jedi Fallen Order and the recent delay to Final Fantasy 7 remake. Yes, we recorded before the Cyberpunk 2077 delay but we do predict it. Ben and Aadil are drinking this week with beers from Burning Sky, Burnt Mill and a North Brewing Co X Beerbliotek collaboration.

Aadil and Ben are joined by former OutofLiveser Lauren Aitken now of VG24/7 for beers, our most anticipated games of 2020 and what we’d like to see change in the industry moving forward. Lauren drinks We’ll Always Have Paris from Sori brewing then kicks to a splash of gin. Aadil starts with Black Snow from 71 Brewing X Lumi Brewing followed by Collective Arts IPA No8 . Ben has Sketches of Home from Lost and Grounded, then the Amundsen Brewery X Other Half collab Brown Cheese and Waffles.

As a continuation from episode 191 the gang kept drinking and moved on to discuss their favourite games and genres of the decade. The drinking continued too with Aadil having beers from Unity and Good Chemistry, Lucy sinking back North Brewing Co and a Whiplash X Pig’s Ear collab and Ben finishing on one from Polly’s and another from Odyssey.

Should it be a game of the year contender? A brief tangent makes it feel like Aadil is present as they discuss Amiibo instead of saying bye for the week. Ben has his big boy pants on this week and drinks ‘Dancing in the Mooblight’ from Northern Monk x Wylam then the ‘I Can’t Get No Sleep’ from Heist brew co.

Ben, Aadil and ghost Lucy get together to run down some of the weeks’ big news and discuss the games they’ve been playing. Aadil doesn’t talk about Blacksad but does bring up Pokemon Sword and Shield shutting down other tech, inevitably Google Stadia is then brought up. Ben has initial thoughts on the recently released Narcos: Rise of the Cartels and Lucy has finished Untitled Goose game, Eastshade and Luigi’s Mansion 3. Finally, are The Game Awards silly? Only Aadil could adult this week and drinks Toast’s session IPA and Mojo from Robinsons Brewery.
