  • Solid Cat: 56 - Vegas

    11/08/2013 Duração: 01h33min

It's the Vegas Spectacular Special of Solid Cat. The Slumber Party of Podcasts hits Sin City... with a 5 year old... and lives to tell the tale. Spoiler Alert: No hookers. In other news, D-mo might be bi-polar. The Danger Diva is surprisingly well-traveled. Things are done in the name of science... or sadism, we're not sure. D-mo and Val celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary (and they said it wouldn't last). But this show is all about Las Vegas. If you want to hear how D-mo and the Space Cowboy do Vegas, you're in luck. We really like Sam's Town. Gambling is all on how it feels. Penny slots are the devil. We visit Cirque du Soleil's Mystere (the hand-to-hand is worth it alone). Gordon Ramsey is everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Ten Things with Val: Vegas Edition hits the show. In the Space Cowboy Kitchen, we review Space Cowboy Pepper Jerky (seriously), and we finish with a lot of unnecessary rambling. Oh, but then there is a condor on the ice. #condorstown

  • Solid Cat: 55 - Burning Hulk of an Escort

    28/07/2013 Duração: 01h34min

It's the return of Solid Cat. The Slumber Party of Podcasts starts slow, but picks up speed... right around when Val's car catches fire. But there's more to the show than a burning hulk of a Ford Escort. We highlight the geographical flaws of Pocahantas. This week's hashtag is #ihearcrickets. We ask that you stop trying to make Lana Del Rey happen. We find out what D-mo did on his birthday. Where's My Water is super addictive. If you wear a kilt, wipe your ass. We have a couple of special shout-outs. It's super food time with the Space Cowboy Kitchen, a summer shandy revisit, more love for Naturebox, and Ten Things with Val. The Space Cowboy's dad was the king of the $500 car. We also learn she just walks away from burning cars (let it burn!). D-mo's bachelor non-party. He's an Arsenal man. Zoe doesn't want to be 16 & Pregnant. But really, this episode is made by Val's automotive adventures. Wear your seat belt.

  • Solid Cat: 54 - James Hinchcliffe

    14/07/2013 Duração: 01h22min

Solid Cat, The Slumber Party of Podcasts, delivers another packed episode of wholesome goodness. In the highlight of the week, D-mo get a phone call from IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe, and he goes total fanboy. Big thanks to GoDaddy.com for making that happen. But wait, there's more. We visit the home of the Chinks, we critique As Seen On TV products, and we ask, "Who remembers the Flo-Bee?" We visit Regretsy, where Etsy fails live, and talk about the Vegan Vulva Cake (you didn't misread that). Val says, "I've got nothing to say about the Chinks, and I've got nothing to say about the vulvas." Penises are just flapping in the breeze, and no one should have their vulva hanging out like one, as that's a serious issue. We have a mid-news fireworks interlude. We fry eggs in Death Valley, and say hello to a sick python. Twelve year old kids are knocking over store for hooker money. Sharknado isn't really that dangerous, especially since the sharks would just vomit and then it's a Chumnado. A kid's superhero has

  • Solid Cat: 53 - So-Called Shandy

    07/07/2013 Duração: 01h21min

It's the Season 2 Premiere of the Solid Cat Podcast. On this holiday weekend, we tell you that you have to blow your wad on the 4th of July. There is a muppet jail. My brother-in-law is not allowed in Canada. Sharknado, and other SyFy classics. Steven Segal got real fat, real fast. Someone is unlawfully being in a dwelling. We fear fake walls, hippos, and dinosaurs. We have a double feature on the Solid Cat Movie Review. The Space Cowboy Kitchen features a Booze Review. You can't masturbate with your off-hand. We have a inside joke about crepes. We eat a truckload of hot dogs. And one of us stepped on a bee.

  • Solid Cat: 52 - One Year Anniversary

    30/06/2013 Duração: 01h17min

The Slumber Party of Podcasts celebrates its One Year Anniversary. We wonder if our episodes titled Benise and XXX: Clip Show are a case of bait and switch. We wonder if Paula Deen really is a flaming racist. We welcome gay weddings, but don't welcome gay bridal registries (hey, we're broke, and you're just get Solid Cat t-shirts). People in Singapore lose their minds over Hello Kitty Happy Meal toys. We praise Serena's nipples. Bikini-clad baristas are the mullets of coffee-houses. We have to medicate dogs due to pirate cannon fire. We have a world-wide weather report. We review the history of bananas, by request! Are there too many conventions in the world? And we feature the return of Pyramid on Solid Cat Game Night. Happy Anniversary to us!

  • Solid Cat: 51 - Mo' with Zo

    23/06/2013 Duração: 47min

On the Slumber Party of the Podcasts, we bring back Zoe, the Danger Diva, for a second week. And though she was gung ho for it before we recorded, she seemed less interested when the mic was on. Kids. We review a Rapunzel ballet. We wish you a happy solstice. We thank the internet for movie spoilers. You get a real slice of the life of us. We tweet with Food Network and Naturebox. "I'm an apple snob." Some people walk like chimps. The world will always need daredevils. Zoe tells "jokes." The UN urges insect eating. "Raccoon kabobs." Nude swimmers and prude swimmers. And waterbeds are evil. It's a short episode this week, but we manage to fill it with mediocrity.

  • Solid Cat: 50 - Podcasting while Driving

    16/06/2013 Duração: 01h02min

It's the big FIVE - OH for Solid Cat, as we reach Episode 50. The Slumber Party of Podcasts hits the road, literally, as we podcast while driving (please don't try this at home). Plus, we have the added plus of this being the first episode with an appearance by Zoe, the Danger Diva. It's really like you're taking a road trip with the three of us... while we try to record a show. How will it sound? That's up to you. But in this week's podcast, we discover our car's turn signals are really loud, and traffic is noisy. We credit Newbsradio for helping Solid Cat across Canada. We ask, what noise does a muskox make? We talk beer cans, and stumble upon a farmer's market. We have lunch at Chronic Tacos, and someone says, "disturbingly healthy." We find out Val's dream vacation. And we issue the Solid Cat General Apology, while pleading with humanity not to live up (or down) to the stereotype.

  • Solid Cat: 49 - with Special Guests Matrice and Josiah

    09/06/2013 Duração: 01h24min

We have the return of Matrice, and introducing Josiah, to the latest Slumber Party of Podcasts, SOLID CAT! We're on a quest for comedy that's going to fail miserably, and Val's accused of walking the streets of the world (hey now!). We ask if lady Mormons are called Mormaids? We learn about Juneteenth, and we have the Attack of the Car Alarms. Do honorary doctorates get you honorary jobs? This week's hashtag is #cockbucket which led us to the child's game, Mr. Bucket. To win, you gotta put your balls in Mr. Bucket. Seriously. We also highlight Kebang from Shambawanga and drop a The Count reference from Sesame Street. Is Pacific Rim just a live-action Neon Genesis Evangelion movie, and we talk too much about the Power Rangers. Hey, it happens.

  • Solid Cat: 48 - Gnomes and Beavers

    02/06/2013 Duração: 01h18min

This week's Solid Cat may go down as one of our best. High praise from low expectations. What's on top today? When Banjo Kat comes in-studio, it will be a hoedown. Germans are more than beer and sausages. Some musical instruments sound like cats, and vice versa. Pico Rivera is a honey hole of hot feline action. Our 5 year old daughter is going to take drum lessons ('cause we're awesome parents). We're getting a new Doctor Who. There is going to be a new Noah's Ark theme park, that'll have a pre-flood pagan temple; the pagan part will be an unmitigated success. What is the Florentine Kiss and why does it sound so dirty. We have beavers in Belarus; yet, beaver hunting has no sporting interest. Then in our feature, we talk gnomes. From Gnome Con to gnomes originated from Priapus to David the Gnome to the Garden Gnome Liberation Front, it's gnometastic. Solid Cat Game Night returns with Name That Tune: ABBA edition. We grab some cougar tails (the cats, not the ladies). We lament the lack of manly men, champagne c

  • Solid Cat: 47 - Let's Talk About Drums

    26/05/2013 Duração: 01h30min

Did you know a kleptomaniac troll named Hank lives with us? But there's so much more to this week's Solid Cat podcast. We lose a library book, we tell you the best ruler for double duty as a backscratcher, and try to hammer down the new fight song for Solid Cat University. We talk a lot about drums and drum accessories, and then make an appropriate Harry Potter reference. We also throw in a bizarre Tom Sawyer reference, and we talk about last week's Shakespeare reference. D-mo is convinced we sunk the U.S.S. Maine, and remembers the time the doctor asked him, "Why aren't you dead?" You want some bouzouki music, we'll hook you up as we judge potential ethnic festivals. Pie crusts really make or break the pie. Ska Theory is a great name for a band. We say hello to Nohjay Nimpson and Mercedes Bunz. Our closing credits last a whole 14 minutes (maybe that's a little too long). Oh, and click the link for pie.

  • Solid Cat: 46 - Barky Mingo

    19/05/2013 Duração: 01h23min

The Slumber Party of Podcasts strikes again with another hilarious show, chocked full of legendary Solid Cat classy segues. In no particular order... "God's Bones!" Mother's Day fires and failures. "I can't stop crying." Val's rap name is "O. Rida," yes, like the tater tot. "They're the Bentley of tater tots." Curvy cucumbers. Anteater hanky panky. Granny-on-granny violence (someone get GrannyFightClub.com started!). Barky Mingo. Solid Cat Game Night features the new game "Canada or Not?" Howl's Moving Castle is featured on the Solid Cat Movie Review. We unveil or first ever 2-Time Paws Up Award Recipient. The Smallest Woman Alive. And we end with the best ending ever... Clownilingus. It just came to us, very organically, it was awesome. And yes, it's what you think it is. Let's Get it ON!

  • Solid Cat: 45 - Mr. Balls

    12/05/2013 Duração: 01h12min

Solid Cat... crude, yet fascinatingly functional. On this week's episode, we discover D-mo has a Canada problem (he likes it too much), and we talk our neighbor's Mexican parties. We proclaim not everything is better on Blu-Ray. We give a shoutout to our good friends at Newbsradio (who are Canadian), and we throw in an obscure holographic Mexican family at a tortilla factory reference. We talk about the "cinematic classic" Down Periscope, and have a conversation about Waterworld. Alpine music is D-mo's personal hell, and we highlight "Pinterest stress." We tell the cautionary tale about Public Storage so you can learn from our experiences (spoiler alert: it's not a happy story, but does have interesting background music). We're chocked full of unintended puns, and we meet the testicular mascot, Mr. Balls. Yes, you read that correctly.

  • Solid Cat: 44 - Crack Open A Book

    05/05/2013 Duração: 01h20min

This week's Solid Cat is being recorded in the daytime. So we naturally talk about ice cream truck music, and if you listen closely, you can actually hear nature in the background. "If corks are flying, booze in flowing." We crack Dorktown's Top 25 Indie Podcast list, and D-mo confesses to singing Dorktown's theme song every so often. We find an actual S-Mart, and then we spend a little too much time on vomiting, but are surprisingly not gross about it (but discover D-mo's an awesome husband). We love TVG and horse racing. We have an odd Eva Braun reference, and two Michelob references, and pound a lot of wine for a sunny afternoon. Soccer saves lives. We foreshadow the tale of a catastrophe, and we remind people we're not being racist, but...

  • Solid Cat: 43 - Food Heavy

    29/04/2013 Duração: 01h25min

Solid Cat is the slumber party of podcasts. On this week's food heavy show, we talk King's Hawaiian where you should treat yourself to a little spirit of aloha, we talk George's Greek Cafe where all-you-can-drink mimosas are only $5 more. Never ask a Mexican if something is spicy. We explore the inner-workings of a cash-only candy speakeasy. We visit the Salt Lake City Samurai, and we peep Delta. We're falling more and more in love with Naturebox. We're not ugly Americans, just average-looking ones. And Val tries too hard to earn the Explicit tag this week. Fine, I'll tag us Explicit.

  • Solid Cat: 42 - Mr. Rogers

    22/04/2013 Duração: 01h19min

On this week's Solid Cat, we're ravaged by Plague 2.0 (so we may not sound that great). We ask: what's the point of tonsils? Was Mr. Rogers a tatted-up military sniper? Are demons on God's payroll? Yes, we went from Mr. Rogers to hell. Our hashtag of the week is #DramaMongers. We speculate that being fat is like smoking (it's bad for you and tough to quit). We have Alpen-squeezin's and the Invasion of the Giant Snails. Asians don't age, and lose trails about when their age is revealed. We talk about the Gingerdead Man movie franchise (you read that correctly). We ask what bad-ass thing are we. We enjoy some fine ginger liqueur and discuss using sheep as lawn mowers (spoiler alert: it's happening now). The ultimate moral of this week's podcast: Do Good, Be Good, and Focus on the Good... oh, and the Space Cowboy is saving all her love for you.

  • Solid Cat: 41 - Slippery Dick

    14/04/2013 Duração: 01h18min

Things said on this week's Solid Cat: "No one benefits when your boobs are on the sides of your belly button;" "Disco Viking;" "Didn't you take French in college?" and "The last thing I want to deal with is a foot long slippery dick" (spoiler alert: that last zinger has nothing to do with penises). And in between these gems, it looks to be quite the mediocre show. We issue the Solid Cat general apology. We fail to grasp the fascination of King Taco. Val fights with her snuggle. We review the latest offering from Old Spice. We do some bra research. We spotlight fellow podcasters. We also spotlight shampooers, a real profession. Irish potatoes are just potatoes. Once again, it's Pyramid on Solid Cat Game Night. We drop another Littlest Hobo reference in passing. We salute young treehuggers. Slippery Dick is not the same as Spotted Dick. We review urinal etiquette. Val laments the length of the last Robert Jordan Wheel of Time book. Vaginal Dryness would be an awesome band name (and D-mo confirms he owns persona

  • Solid Cat: 40 - Leggings Are Not Pants

    08/04/2013 Duração: 01h27min

It's episode 40 of Solid Cat. What do we talk about today? Let's list... -IKEA pillows -We love Dikembe Mutumbo -Strawberries & Cream at the ballyard -Val hates Dodger Dogs -Nachos are just mini, mini tostadas -Buffalo is 8 hours from everything -There is an egg that's a foot long -Madagascar: Big Island, Big Birds -Naturalist vs. Naturist -A nerdy auction in London -Banana Bread -More Assassin's Creed -Hey, don't kill the dog! -The Butchest Man Alive -Closer Geography Theory of Ethnic Food -Chinatown -Don't retweet trends you don't like -You can be too skinny for skinny jeans -If you didn't know, we're fashionistas -And we have the longest credits ever. So, pretty much run of the mill at Solid Cat. #staysolid

  • Solid Cat: 39 - Gravy

    31/03/2013 Duração: 01h23min

Solid Cat starts out in heat. Or at least it sounds like it. But this turned out to be a very packed episode of the Solid Cat podcast. We salute Doctor Who, get on our gay soapbox in support of our rainbow brothers and sisters, and ask you to pick between Hitler and pediatricians. We talk about Avenger ass, and apparently, D-mo is obsesses with Norse mythology, or so he's told. Val wants D-mo to get a Thor's Hammer tattoo, and we debate the concept of piss-controlled video games. We visit The Littlest Hobo and join up with a mime, a deaf boy, and a drifter German Shepherd to stop a robbery. We do something different in the Space Cowboy Kitchen, and dwell on food for maybe a little too long. On Solid Cat Game Night, we play The Match Game (with questionable results). We quiz ourselves to determine which Doctor Who companion we would be, and we wrap up the night with bacon... mouthwash. Seriously. Scope Bacon (look it up). Oh, and there is gravy. Lots of gravy. All over this show. And it was completely unplanne

  • Solid Cat: 38 - Sausage Cat

    24/03/2013 Duração: 01h18min

We cover the globe on this week's Solid Cat podcast. We learn a little something about Belgium, we compare Antiques Roadshow US vs. Antiques Roadshow UK, Danish TV inadvertently proves that Assassin's Creed is awesome, we talk about questionable Chinese food places including The Chinky Chicky, there's something about the Pope and Batman, and we hail Canada for their campaign against social farting. And in between all that, we question whether we should do our own Loveline, D-mo examines the Mission Impossible like tension when dealing with workplace lunchrooms fridges, Val owns the TARDIS of lunch bags, and also takes way too long to tell her QVC story. This week's hashtag is #sizzlerbitches, and we go on record and say we like libraries, bookstores, and chicken and waffles. Oh, and sausage, and bacon, and hamburgers, and more bacon.

  • Solid Cat: 37 - St. Paddy's Day Popetacular

    16/03/2013 Duração: 01h09min

Last week, we said the next Pope should be from Argentina. And wouldn't you know it, they picked the Argentinian. This week, we brag that we called that shite. But there's more on this week's Solid Cat podcast. We salute St. Patrick who drove all the snakes out in his Fiat 500. We wonder if the English re-released the Black Death, and we ponder why they're called Romanians and Romaniacs. And in the course of 30 minutes, we go from Pope Francis to llama porn (be sure to check out Alpaca Spankers #5). We spit out other forms of blasphemy, and we have a little coffee and cake. On Solid Cat Game Night, we play Who Wants to Be a Millionaire: Pope Edition. We try to earn our Video Games Merit Badge, we wax poetic about Oreos, and we try to explain, what Val calls, "The Fellini of Planetarium Shows." And lastly, D-mo reminds everyone to practice safe spanking - wear a glove. #hotpope
