In this final message, we will look at why it takes three to desire your marriage. "Being in love is not an adequate foundation for a successful marriage." Being in love is an emotional and obsessive experience. However, emotions and obsessions fade. What happens when the feeling seems to fade?

We are in Week 2 of our marriage series, "It Takes Three". Three strands create the strongest rope. If you add more strands, the rope is not strengthened because three strands is the most that can touch the other strands at the same time. It takes three, not two to provide the most strength in your marriage.

The strongest rope is a threefold rope. The largest number of strands that can all touch one another is three. If you take one away and leave only two, obviously the rope will be weakened. If you add an extra strand and make four, you do not add to the strength of the rope because the strands no longer touch one another. If you have a rope of three strands, one or two of the strands may be under pressure and start to fray, but as long as the third strand holds, the rope will not break. God is the third strand, touching both lives and becoming an integral part of the relationship making for a stronger marriage.

In our final week of this series, we will be looking at Jesus, the Physician. The word "Physician" is closely related to the word "physical". A physician is someone who is skilled in the art of physical healing. Is Jesus a physician? I would think so-- since He created the physical body. Now think about this. Our bodies are made up of three parts: body, soul, and spirit. Let me ask you a question: Is Jesus concerned about your spirit? Is Jesus concerned about your soul? Isn't it sad that He's only concerned with 2/3 of you? Listen to this sermon to learn how God heals in 3 ways.

How often do we include Jesus in our conversations with friends, co-workers, or teammates? How often do we include Jesus on minor and major decisions?

This week, we take a closer look at Jesus, as the Teacher. 48 times in the Gospels, (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) Jesus was referred to as the Teacher. There are even atheists, who refer to Jesus as having been an amazing teacher. There is a lot you can learn from the "red letters".
