Forte Catholic Podcast: Making Catholicism Fun Again

In this week's episode, we talk about the amazing Super Bowl that happened this weekend, why we love sports, what sports can teach us and how it can help us grow in our faith. I talk about the things that I learned while playing sports growing up and how those lessons have made me a better Christian. In the last segment, I interview youth minister Chris Johnson, also known as the Pokevangelist. Tune in to join in our laughter and find out what the heck a Pokevangelist is, how pop culture can be used to assist in ministry and more.

Here in Episode 18, I start by discussing the Holy Spirit. By looking at the story of Pentecost, we explore together how the Apostles receiving the Holy Spirit completely transformed them and what this means for modern day Catholics. In segment 2, listen to an interview with Matt Arismendez, the leader of Tongues of Fire Ministries in San Antonio. He is a mentor of mine and it was a pleasure to have him on the air to talk about the importance of commitment. In the final 20 minutes, we do the Mass Text segment, looking at the Gospel reading from Monday about Jesus healing a possessed man. Live show from RED-C Radio on my birthday! We had a lot of fun today with some interaction with the audience with questions from social media and streaming the third segment of the show on Facebook live. In the first segment, I spoke about the recent conference I went to for ministry and shared what I learned about the importance of questions. Jesus was a master teacher and used questions to get many of His points across. I walk through how Jesus used questions and what we can learn from that. Then, I interviewed a fellow missionary, Matthew Bachali, that I met at the conference. He is a great man of God that I had a lot of fun with at the conference. We talked about the great experience we had of Christian brotherhood and how we can carry that back in to our day to day lives. Then in the final segment, I answered a few listener questions, wrapped up the conversation about questions and had the second Forte Five segment on our relationship as Christians with money. Hosting a radio show has always been a dream of mine and I am so grateful that it has finally come to fruition! This pilot episode is focused on mercy as I introduce myself and share how God has shown His mercy to me in big ways. I also interview Dylan Browning about his recent trip to World Youth Day in Poland. The Forte Catholic Radio Show will be a mix of faith and fun focused on how we take the next step in our faith, no matter what part of the journey we find ourselves on.
