Big Gross Movies

This week we punch each other out of the windshield of the time machine and land in 1981 to have a look around and watch the highest grossing movie: Raiders of the Lost Ark with our Indy expert comedian Nigel Grinstead.  We talk about world leader shootings, Mrs. Thatcher's stone heart and then watch Indiana Jones punch and shoot and whip things and go over it for you.   Check out our Tumblr 

This week we elegantly twirl the Time Machine back to 1964 to look around and watch the highest grossing movie My Fair Lady with Guest Ryan Horwood. We talk about President "burp into the phone" Johnson, go over Canada's Flag and recap the misogynist wet dream that is My Fair Lady.

This week, Co-host Meg Mackay and special guest Kyle Lucey are here to hold the time machine's hair back as it pukes through it's new years hangover and ferries us to 2002 to look around and catch it's highest grossing movie.  We talk about color-coded scary things and such before going over the epic middle child of Peter Jackson: The Lord of the Rings: Thw Two Towers.   Check out the Tumblr at www.

This week we swing back to 1982 in the time machine with Special Guest Will Noye to catch one of our nerdy, sad favourites: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.  We ponder many aspects, chiefly why Spock didn't use tongs or something.  Regular ep next week.

This week Meg Mackay fell off the time machine again, landing somewhere in Victorian England, presumably on a pile of poor children, but worry not as I swung back and got Guest Meg Amanda Day to swing back to 1930 to watch it's highest grossing movie: All Quiet on the Western Front!  We talk about fancy innovations like exploding airships and flying cows and go over a sombre, reflective, profound meditation on war... blockbuster?  The Past is weird guys, with Special guest Craig Fay!  

This week we engage the sadness Matrix and fly to 1970 fueled only by special guest's Dean Young's tears to look around and check out its big gross movie: Love Story.  We discuss the end of the seventies, Kent State, More Nixon and go over perhaps the worst excuse for a love story ever produced, the inexplicably dumb Love Story.

This week we make meatballs in the Time machine's new crock-pot based reactor and head back to 1955 to have a look about and watch it's Big Gross Movie: Lady and the Tramp!  We discuss the Warsaw pact, the horrible racism of... everything and then settle in to watch an entitled rich lady meet a roguish tramp and act baffled when he turns out to sleep around a lot, with special guest Ryan Dillon!

This week we finger-light the time machine to 1982 to look around and watch it's big gross movie: E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial!  We talk about Mrs. Thatcher's toy war, the weird, boring way Canada came to be, and then go over the heartwarming fecal puppet antics of a space alien with special guest and comedian Aisha Brown.

This week we pull 12 gs in the time machine and land in the disco morass of 1979 and watch it's big gross movie Moonraker.  We talk about Iran, nuclear things, an enormous explosion and the teeny old lady who fixed it.  Then we strap in and go over the loose collection of action scenes starring an old man with poor knees: Moonraker with returning guest Ryan Horwood

This week we laboriously drag the time machine back to 1962 to have a gander around and watch its big gross movie Lawrence of Arabia!  We talk about Space, Mississippi, and then try to tell you what it is like to look directly into the abyss that is Lawrence of Arabia with special guest Nile Seguin!

This week the time machine done conked out so I got Guest Meg Amanda Day as your fearless co-host is (probably) in a dimension of reality where sandwiches can steal souls, back next week (If the time machine gets fixed) So anyway we decided to get a look at another movie that made a lot of money this year, we saw Furious 7 with our special guest Will Noye!

This week Meg Mackay is on loan to the 97th time precinct to track down a temporal fugitive because Dave couldn't be bothered, so Guest Meg Alex Wood is here to peddle the time bike and get us back to 1996 to look around and watch it's Big Gross Movie: Independence Day.  We talk about a strange fella from the woods, Canada's national shame, and go over the pile of flags and exploding miniatures that is Independence Day with comedian Megan Myke.   Show Notes and pictures from 1996 Here on our Tumblr

This week we give the time machine a bit of a break and hop back to the once futuristic year 2000 to have a look around and see it's highest grossing movie: Mission: Impossible 2 with comedian Jarrett Campbell! We talk about the dot-com crash and other whoopsie-goofs like the first Bush Presidency before going over the insane Mission: Impossible 2, a movie with gun doves, kicking and a real lady problem.  

This week we put chrome tail fins on the time machine and check out 1959 with comedian Hisham Kelati, a lovely fellow.  We talk about the horrible fifties, then go over the best movie ever made about guys giving each other water.

This week we dress up the time machine in Gold and head to 1963 to look around and watch its big gross movie: Cleopatra.  We talk about the Birmingham campaign, Kennedy things, and then talk about the four hour money fire that is Cleopatra.  With special guest Ted Morris.

This week we pack the time machine with Gas Bombs and head for 1933 to look around and check out it's big gross movie: King Kong.  We talk about the New Deal, Germany, and a Toronto race riot before going over King Kong: The story of a jerk who steals an ape with our special guest, Comedian and organizer of the Toronto She-dot comedy festival Karen O'Keefe.
