RUSH: Last Thursday night TNT Inside the NBA, they’re talking about the impact of COVID-19, the pandemic, on the NBA season. And here’s what Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith had to say about it. BARKLEY: Three hundred million shots. Give a thousand to some NBA players, NFL players, hockey players. Listen, as much taxes as these players paid — let me repeat that — as much taxes as these players paid, they deserve some preferential treatment. SMITH: For life and death? BARKLEY: Yes. SMITH: The amount of money you make doesn’t — BARKLEY: No, no. I said taxes. SMITH: The amount of money you make — BARKLEY: I didn’t say the amount of money you make. SMITH: But that’s on taxes. RUSH: Okay, now you people know, you are well aware one of the reasons you listen is I know liberals. I know them. I know them like every square inch of my gloriously naked body. Dealing with liberals is like dealing with a one-armed lunatic. They’re just gonna keep swinging. They’re gonna keep fighting no matter what you do. They never go away. And I know what they’re gonna do and why they’re gonna do it before they do it, and people marvel at this. We have an opportunity now because of the utterance of Elizabeth Warren, she’s running against Scott Brown for the United States Senate in Massachusetts. This was a seat that was at one time held by Senator Kennedy. She is the presumptive Democrat challenger. RUSH: So I’m here (in a sporadic way) able to catch some of the Democrat impeachment filing against President Trump — and that he threatened the constitutional system, and the fact that he did this in the month of January is no reason to forget about it, that he threatened and almost destroyed the U.S. constitutional system.  RUSH: We had a call and the caller chickened out, the caller hung up, the caller did not have the guts to ask the question directly. I get a one-line advisory about whatever the caller wants to talk about, and this guy wanted to know how can you square pollution with global warming or something. Snerdley said he said, ‘Well look, big fan of yours, listens to you all the time –‘ of course; who doesn’t? ‘– he’s got a problem with your stand on global warming. He lives in Boston. Since the 1900s –‘ how many cars did he say? Okay, 400% increase in what period of time? Not that it matters, but okay, ‘400% increase in the number of cars since the early 1900s,’ I think it would be more than that, but regardless. His point was, ‘Look, I live in Boston and you can see the pollution. They rub their hands together in glee when there is a natural disaster that they think they can spin in such a way as to advance their political agenda. The caller was frustrated that the party at large doesn’t seem to be getting the news out about how good the economy is, and indeed the economic statistics are fabulous — unemployment, middle-class wage growth, Dow Jones Industrial Average flirting with 12,000 — and yet we’re told that people don’t “feel” this economy is good. Why do you think that is, if it’s true, and how do you all plan to use the economy in the next three weeks of the campaign? RUSH: Grab audio sound bite number three. The TNT network does television coverage of the NBA. Now, we all know what’s happened to late-night comedy. It doesn’t exist anymore. There isn’t any. Late-night comedy has become left-wing agenda-driven anger and hate. Rather than looking for laughs from their audiences, late-night comics and stand-up comics are seeking applause for when they themselves endeavor to start getting into the hate game. The hatred of Donald Trump, the hatred of Republicans, the hatred of conservatives. Well, this has left a void. There isn’t any humor? There isn’t any professional humor. RUSH: The police chief in Chicago is furious. The police superintendent, Eddie Johnson, who announced these charges against Smollett in the first place. If you’re just turning on the radio, the Chicago DA, the state attorney, Kim Foxx, who had recused herself from this case, has announced that charges against Jussie Smollett have been dropped, and the police were not consulted. To me, there was something that didn’t look right or smell right. And when I saw all of these Hollywood people immediately jump on this thing and start claiming that it was a bunch of deranged Trump people attacking a poor black guy in Chicago, I said, “Waaaaaait a minute. It’s just too pat.” So, I waited, and it turns out now that ABC 7 WLS TV Chicago is reporting it’s a hoax, that two guys pretended to beat up Smollett and that they’re bit players, actors, on the show Empire. They’re Nigerian. They left town the day after the attack. They’ve come back. The cops have identified them. The cops have raided their apartment. The cops have their cell phones and their computers.
