RUSH: Now, I mentioned at the beginning of the program that it’s normally at Christmastime that I get all sentimental and thankful about the wonderful things that have happened to me because of you and that have accrued to me and my family because of you. And I don’t know why Christmastime as opposed to Thanksgiving, but I thought I would switch it up this year and reiterate these things that I try to share with you each and every year at Christmastime or during this holiday-type season. So the real story of Thanksgiving. It is a tradition on this program. And this is the time of year, to me, the holiday season begins and I think to most people. This time of year I just become overwhelmed with so many emotions, memories. And the way I'm built, most of my memories are positive. I think, in my case, when I think of nostalgia or the past, the things that automatically occur to me are pleasant ones.  It takes me to The True Story of Thanksgiving. It was written about in chapter 6 of See, I Told You So, book two. It's in a chapter titled, Dead White Guys or What the History Books Never Tell You. And this chapter, by the way, served as the foundation for the first book in the Rush Revere series, Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims. RUSH: Douglas Brinkley is a Frank Luntz kind of guy. He’s a pollster, he’s a presidential historian, he’s at Rice University, and he was on CNN Saturday as the Drive-By Media continues to discuss what Trump is going to do when he leaves the White House. For example, here’s a Politico headline: “Trump Threatens to Wreak Havoc on GOP From Beyond the White House — His attacks on Republican governors since his loss offer a sample of what’s in store. President Donald Trump has spent the three weeks since he lost the election…” This is Politico, not me. Hang on. “…since he [allegedly] lost the election savaging a pair of GOP governors for not backing his claims he was robbed. RUSH: The CDC, the Centers for Disease Control, urging everybody to do nothing, go nowhere, stay home during Thanksgiving. By all means, don’t do anything. Stay where you are. Stay hunkered down. That’s what Americans are known for. They hunker down in the corner. Find the cubbyhole where you live where the Navy SEALs have to be thrown in there to get you out if they can’t find you. RUSH: The Pfizer vaccine, 95% effective. They plan to submit this to the FDA in days, according to CNBC. You know what this is? This is the blockbuster result of Trump’s Operation Warp Speed in real time. But you know what had to happen for this to happen? Trump had to rid the FDA and this government of so many regulations, things that liberal Democrats would have never — we could not have gotten this vaccine in this short a time were it not for Trump zapping so many regulations. Conservatives like myself, Rush, I mean, we voted for Republicans hoping to roll back all this government spending. And now I hear today that Congress, the Senate and the House, they’ve come to this agreement, everybody’s happy, and listen, I’m a Navy veteran. I’m glad for more military spending, but this is gonna add $300 billion to the deficit, so my question, Rush, is how do we as conservatives kind of justify this? RUSH: You know, it’s a great question, and I was communicating with some friends before the program today on this, and I was telling them — I probably should not admit this, because it changes for me day to day. But I have to tell you, this whole budget thing, I think I’m immune to it now. RUSH: Over the course of many recent months, I have made the point that one of the objectives of the modern American left is to transform America away from its intentions and its designs as founded. And in many ways, this was one of the agenda objectives of the Obama administration, although to do it in a stealth way. Obama couldn’t come out and say it beyond that his policies were “transformative.” He couldn’t define what that meant. There would have been a revolt — and he wouldn’t have been elected if he’d been honest about what transforming America meant. So what he claimed it meant was taking on issues like climate change and health care for everybody and all this, transform America. RUSH: I just watched the video of Betsy DeVos trying to go into a public school in Washington, DC, and she’s met by a handful, 10 or 12 left-wing reprobates, a white guy wearing Black Lives Matter sweatshirt. She was nearly violently restricted from going up the steps and into the school. And then she and her, it looked like a security guard — well, an assistant, she was hustled back to her vehicle, which was a Suburban, an SUV, and this mob followed her back. They get in the car peacefully but then this guy tried to obstruct the car leaving, and he was just shouting insanely, “Shame, shame, shame.” I mean, folks, this is not time-honored and wonderful and great American dissent. It’s human debris who have had their minds polluted and poisoned by the American left from the education system, to media, to pop culture. They’re just sick. Here’s a great example. RUSH: As I predicted, as I warned you all yesterday, gun control has become the central theme of the Drive-By Media after the tragedy here, the massacre at Virginia Tech. By the way, speaking of something that we were just talking about, this guy was sending out clear warning signs that he was not right, and nobody would do anything about it on the campus. I mean, they sent him to counseling. They don’t know how that went. He might have been taking anti-depressants. We don’t know what the effect of that was. He went to some institution for a while. We don’t know how that went. We also have just learned that the guy’s writings, which we did know about, but what we just learned is that the guy’s writings were so scary that there were people that refused to go to his class. They refused to actually go in the classroom when this guy was there. So there clearly were all kinds of warning signs about this that were not heeded in a serious way. As I say, it’s very easy to start running around saying, ‘Well, ban guns!

I have a story here from the State-Controlled Associated Press: ‘Merkel Thanks Gorbachev on Berlin Wall Anniversary.’ Now, let’s be clear about something. ‘Barack Hussein Obama. Mmm, mmm, mmm!’ was invited to go and said (imitating Obama) ‘Mmm, mmm, mmm, ain’t going! Got to bowl, gotta play golf, got a concert in the House, got a date night, gotta celebrate health care. I ain’t going. I don’t believe in freedom, anyway. That wall, we communists, we don’t celebrate our failures. Let Gorbachev handle it. They’re going down to Antarctica — the South Pole, for those of you in Rio Linda — and they’re gonna prove that there’s so much global warming that there isn’t any ice, or very little ice, that it’s melting. It’s a cruise. And they get stuck in the ice far, far away from their intended destination. So icebreakers are called in. The icebreakers get stuck! There was a ChiCom icebreaker that got stuck. They needed all these fossil fuel, gigantic ships to rescue them after a week. And every news story — every one of them! Let me put it this way: Not one news story makes the connection that these are a bunch of hypocrites. Not one notes the irony. They just talk about a brave bunch of scientists needed to be rescued in Antarctica. Meanwhile, we have more record lows last year than record highs — and in Green Bay for football this Sunday?
