When Jesus began to choose His disciples, He had a pattern of jumping into the middle of their story and interrupting their day-to-day life. He then invited each one of them on the journey of a lifetime—to walk hand-and-hand with the living God. As we continue this story of Jesus through the book of Mark, we see that Jesus, after being water baptized, was drove out into the wilderness where He was not only tempted by Satan, but was also protected by angels.

We see in the New Testament this pattern: They believed and then they were water baptized. Follow along with Pastor Kevin as we discover the importance of water baptism for every Believer today as we continue our series in the Gospel of Mark.

In Genesis 1:26, God creates man (and woman) in His likeness and image, and creates them to have dominion on the earth. We were not designed to create our own dominion, but to trust in the finish work on Jesus and operate of this truth.

God designed every one of us to be care free and to cast our cares at the foot of the cross. You were never meant to carry the burdens and stress of this world—but instead—casting off every care and allowing God to lift you up and sustain you. Psalms 55:22

When Jesus died on the cross, He destroyed the power of sin and death. Now, the door is open for you to come boldly in the the throne of Grace.

It is often said, "The best thing to do with your past is leave it there." When Jesus came and died, He came to redeem the world from sin and to save us unto to good works. He did not come to judge nor condemn the world, but to save it.

When Jesus was on the cross, He looked to the man on his left, the people crucifying Him, and to His mother and was thinking about them. Learn from this message how to be others minded, even when it doesn't come naturally.

One of the most powerful lessons we see from the cross is forgiveness. Though we were sinners, Christ died for us and forgave us. We now have the power to forgive other just as Christ has forgiven us.

"The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18 Everyone has tried to fix their own life, their own marriage, their own problems—but once you see that you cannot fix things on your own, you then allow Jesus' abundant power to bring hope in every situation.

Every Sunday, we should leave this place on mission… Let's go and be a mercy giver. Let's go and love like Jesus. Let's go and blow somebody away with kindness. Now GO let your light shine!

In Luke, when Jesus tells us to "love our neighbor," this love isn't a fleeting love—but a love that extends mercy.

When tragedy and calamity comes, we as Christians are called to be First Responders—not second or third, but first! During these days, it's not difficult to find someone calling for help, whether it be financially, emotionally, or even physically. In Acts 16:9-10, Paul has a vision of a man from Macedonia crying for help, and he concludes, we must go to Macedonia to preach the Good News. We too must hear the cry of our nation and other nations to be compelled to go and preach the Good News.
