04/11/2024 Duração: 02minFáilte ar ais chuig eagrán nua de Ar An Lá Seo ar an 4ú lá de mí na Samhna, liomsa Lauren Ní Loingsigh. I 1980 bhuaigh Ronald Regan an toghchán don Uachtarán Meiriceá. Bhí sé i gcoinne uachtarán daonlathach Jimmy Carter. I 2001 tháinig Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone amach agus bhí an seoladh ar siúil san Odeon i Leicester Square i Londain. Bhí an phictiúrlann tionscanta mar Hogwarts. I 1967 bhí an Clár fós ag ceiliúradh tar éis a tháinig bean ó Quin Mrs. B. Ryan sa cheathrú háit sa Uile – Éireannach Craobhchomórtas Treabhadh i gCeatharlach. I 1980 bhí tuaisceart an Clár buailte le spéirling agus fuarlach báistí. Seo an bháisteach is troime a bhí ag an chontae riamh mar go raibh a lán damáiste déanta sa chontae agus bhí tuile fhorleathan ann. Bhí an damáiste déanta chuig Ardnaculla agus Inis Díomáin. Multi-Million Caherlohan Boost Hailed As Transformative For All Of Clare
04/11/2024 Duração: 03minA multi-million euro funding boost for Caherlohan has been hailed as transformative for all sectors of the county. It follows a confirmed allocation of €3.2m towards the revamp of Clare GAA's Centre of Excellence, which will allow for the development of two playing pitches, 12 floodlights, a new gym and a 1,350 capacity spectator stand. It comes just over a month after the same project received a grant of over €478,000 for a new all-weather pitch under the Sports Capital Programme, and its now estimated up to a further €1.5m will be needed to complete the redevelopment. Clare GAA Chief Operating Officer Deirdre Murphy has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan the state of-the-art facility will be open to all community groups when it comes to fruition and that it wouldn't be possible without today's investment.

Suggestions Macho Culture Contributing To Clare's High Rate Of Male Suicide
04/11/2024 Duração: 16minIt's been suggested a lingering "macho" culture is keeping men in Clare from talking about their emotions. Newly-published statistics show Clare had the highest rate of suicide of any county last year, with males making up four fifths of those who died by suicide here. In 2023, a total of 302 people lost their lives as a result of suicide. Of these, a staggering 77% were male. In Clare alone, 25 people died by suicide last year which is the highest figure per capita and the third-highest overall after Dublin and Cork. Chairperson of Clare Suicide Bereavement Support Dan O'Connor says although this must be taken seriously, he hopes with the right supports in place, it will soon level out. Of the 25 people who fell victim to suicide here in 2023, 20 were males which accounts for four fifths of the county's total. This is the highest figure for male suicide in Clare since records began. Despite progress, it's often argued that a stigma still exists around discussing mental health as a male. Director of

04/11/2024 Duração: 07minA long-time Ennis business owner says he wants to leave the town "in a better state" than he found it in but says this is difficult due to the ongoing public realm works. Locals haven't been shy in expressing their frustration with the pace at which the streetspace enhancements are being carried out in the county town, with the €11.5 million not due to conclude until late next year. Last week, a coach driver told Clare FM of the sleep disruption he experienced while staying in Ennis due to the noise created by construction taking place outside his hotel bedroom window. Noel Tierney of Tierney Cycles on Abbey Street claims a particularly challenging aspect of navigating the ongoing works has been engaging with local representatives.

Shannon Resident Of Defective Celtic Tiger Home Criticises Lack Of Action On Interest Repayments
04/11/2024 Duração: 04minA Shannon resident of a defective Celtic Tiger era apartment has criticised the Government for failing to minimise their financial burden. The Department of Housing has begun developing a pilot scheme to reimburse households who've had to fix structural, water ingress and fire safety flaws at houses and duplexes built between 1991 and 2013. Up to 240 homes in Brú Na Sionna are affected and while the estate's management company has progressed remedial works, the applicable interest levies that have to be repaid will not be covered by the state. Resident Lorraine Carew says while this is understandable, the lack of action to reduce costs has led to severely distressing situations.
