James and Kevin take on a Tune-Up, delivering a revised take on Into the Spiderverse before getting into a new segment called Touche, Salesman, where James has to convince Kevin to watch a five-minute Aquaman trailer.  Then, the boys indulge in Vice, burn down Dark Phoenix, all before deducing whether Holmes & Watson is elementary or exemplary.

James & Kevin do their due diligence by checking out the third trailer for The Grinch and seeing if the new Mary Poppins Returns trailer is less terrifying than its first impression.  Then, they consider their options with Prospect, decide if they're gonna follow Apostle, sing their praises for The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, and decide whether Captain Marvel lives up to her name.  AND THEN (they, er, had a lot to say this week), the boys do a Trailer in the Rearview for Mandy, decide whether the extreme arthouse aesthetic came through in the trailer, all before diving in to the film itself. In honor of the film, we kept all of their pauses in tact from the raw audio, and linger on beats just a liiiiiiiitle too long.

Another year, another smattering of films vying for the Palme D’Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Grand artistic statements will be made! At least three pretentious interviews will happen. Hearts will be broken when certain films aren’t recognized… With any luck, James & Kevin will try to mend some broken hearts with their own awards! A filmmaker might not win the Palme D’Or, but the trailer for their film might win the Palm Door, which is Trailer Hitch’s top prize for the segment! Sure, Burning is heavily favored to win the Palme D’Or, but how will it fair for the Palm Door? All these questions and more are answered! Ay! Avengers: Infinity War came out! Oh no. The Book of Henry came out. There’s a lot to dissect with both movies (for entirely different reasons), so our Bad Movie Correspondent Jenny Hoks and special guest Joe Chitel help the boys skim through The Book of Henry and disassemble Avengers: Infinity War.
