    On the last day of December 2000, a family of four was murdered in Tokyo's Setagaya district, including two young children. The case has never been solved despite the killer leaving ample physical and biological evidence at the scene. It remains one of Japan's longest-running and most mysterious crimes. The father had some run-ins with some skaters at the skate park very close to their house.     On July 4th, 1954, Marilyn Reese Sheppard was found brutally murdered inside her home in Bay Village, Ohio. Her husband's story seemed unbelievable, and the police quickly made Sam Sheppard their number one suspect. Sam was convicted of murder, then acquitted years later. His guilt or innocence is still a hotly debated topic. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the infamous unsolved murder of Marilyn Sheppard and the subsequent trials of her husband Sam. Sam's story was that he woke up to hear his wife screaming and was knocked unconscious in a fight with a bushy-haired intruder. The police didn't buy it and when they learned of Sam's infidelity, they used it as the motive for him to kill his wife. A window washer who told the police he thought Marilyn was attractive implicated himself in the murder over the years. But, what is the real story? The highly successful financial advisor had left the luxury home she shared with her second husband and teenage son for an early morning run along the coast. But Melissa never made it back home. As the hours and days passed with no sign of her, concerns for her welfare grew. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the disappearance of Melissa Caddick. Melissa was declared dead after her severed foot washed up south of Sydney. But, the facts surrounding the case have left many people wondering what happened to Melissa. It came out that she had allegedly duped many investors and stolen their money.   • The Murders of the Dupont de Ligonnès Family

    The Dupont de Ligonnès were a French family with aristocratic roots going back centuries. They were well-respected and highly regarded in their community. In April 2011, neighbors noticed that they hadn't seen the family leave the house for a few weeks. The police found all of them buried underneath the garden terrace, except for the father. Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès had gone missing. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the murder of the Dupont de Ligonnès family. A father who is missed after their entire is murdered is always going to be a suspect. Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès was no exception. Police quickly discovered that Xavier was in debt, had strange communications with other family members, and had purchased materials prior to the murders that made him look even more suspicious. But, police would have to find him to question him about the murders.   • Bible John

    In 1968 and 1969, three women in their mid-20s to early 30s were murdered in the Scottish industrial city of Glasgow. They were Patricia Docker, Jemima McDonald, and Helen Puttock. They had all gone out for a night of dancing and socializing before being murdered. The murder suspect became known as Bible John. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the murders committed by Bible John. The murders of all three women shared many similarities. Helen Puttock's sister Jean shared a cab with her sister and the man who would later kill Helen. She shared a description with the police along with the fact that this man quoted the Old Testament which led to the media calling the killer Bible John.     In December 2011, 20-month-old Ayla disappeared from the city of Waterville Maine, where she was staying with her father Justin DiPietro. The search for Ayla became the largest criminal investigation in Maine history. Justin said that he put Ayla to bed around 8:00 PM on the night of December 16th and that the next morning when he woke up Ayla was gone. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the disappearance of Ayla Reynolds. Police initially believed that little Ayla may have been able to exit the house on her own. But, they eventually reversed course and began to believe that something may have happened to her inside the house. No one has ever been charged in Ayla's disappearance and many questions remain. Ayla's mother continues to fight for the truth about what happened to Ayla and firmly believes that Ayla's father knows more than what he has said to this point.   • The Hall Mills Murders

    On September 16, 1922, 41-year-old Reverend Edward Hall and 31-year-old Eleanor Mills were found dead beneath a crabapple tree in Franklin Township, New Jersey. Both Edward and Eleanor were married to other people. Despite multiple arrests and a sensational murder trial, no one has ever been convicted of the Hall-Mills murders. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the murders of Edward Hall and Eleanor Mills. Eleanor's death was much more violent and brutal than Edward's. Witnesses said they overheard multiple women talking before they heard gunshots. This led police to believe that a woman was involved and involved a great hatred for Eleanor. Both of the victim's spouses were looked at but both provided alibis. But, Frances Stevens Hall, Edward's wife, had a lot of money and it's been speculated by some that she paid for her alibi.   • The Alphabet Murders

    Between 1971 and 1973, three young girls were abducted and murdered in Rochester, New York. They were 10-year-old Carmen Colon, 11-year-old Wanda Walkowicz, and 11-year-old Michelle Maenza. A number of eyewitnesses came forward to give clues to the police, but to date, none of the murders have been solved. Unique aspects of this case gave way to media outlets dubbing them "The Alphabet Murders." Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss The Alphabet Murders. What made the case unique, and gave way to its name, was that the first letter of each of the victims' first and last names was the same. Each victim was also dumped in a location in the Rochester area, which corresponded to these particular letters. Numerous suspects have come up over the years. There's even a theory that not all the murders are even linked. Regardless, the killer or killers remain on the loose to this day, despite some claiming to know who is responsible for at least one of the slayings.   • The Lady of the Dunes

    On July 26, 1974, a woman's mutilated body was found at the Race Point Dunes in Provincetown, Massachusetts. It's been almost 48 years, and the police have not been about to identify the woman or her killer. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the mysterious case of The Lady of the Dunes. The mutilation of the body appeared to be a clear attempt to make it difficult to identify this individual. Both of the woman's hands and some her teeth were removed. There was even an attempt to sever the head. There have been many theories over the years as to both her identity and the killer. One theory is that she was an extra on the movie Jaws and another theory is that infamous mobster Whitey Bulger was the killer.   • The Jamison Family

    In October 2009, the Jamison family left home to look at a property for sale in a remote area of Red Oak, Oklahoma. They were never seen alive again. Their bodies weren't found until four years later, and the medical examiner could not determine a cause of death for any of them. Theories on what happened to the Jamisons range from murder-suicide, starvation, or drug-related activity to a murder committed by a cult. Their truck was found and what was inside, including Madyson's dog, has perplexed investigators and fueled speculation for years. Madyson loved her dog and would have never left it behind. It looked to investigators as though the Jamisons were forced out of their truck in a hurry. But who was behind it and exactly what happened remains a mystery.     When Thomas Wales was murdered in his Seattle home in 2001, the FBI almost immediately thought that it was a professional hit. Wales was an Assistant United States Attorney who had prosecuted many white-collar criminals. The authorities had to figure out whether it was someone Thomas had prosecuted who pulled off or ordered the hit. Join Mike and Gibby as they discuss the murder of Thomas Wales. The authorities pretty quickly focused in on a pilot who Tom Wales had indicted the year before his murder. And even though over 20 years have passed since the murder, the authorities don't seem to have moved on from their prime suspect. What has come out are rumors of a drug cartel being involved and that the authorities know the identity of the shooter. But to date, they have not held anyone accountable to for the murder of Thomas Wales.     In March of 1987, in the darkened car lot south of a London pub, Daniel Morgan's body was found lying on the ground near his car. He'd been brutally murdered, with an ax sticking out of his face.     On December 24th,1945, a fire destroyed the Sodder family's home in Fayetteville, West Virginia. George Sodder, Jennie Sodder, and four of their children made it out in time. George and Jennie were devastated to lose five of their children in the fire, but that devastation turned into shock and confusion when they could not find the remains in the wreckage. There were reported sightings of the children after the fire, but the official version is that they died at the home.
