Erin Sullivan – better known as Erin Outdoors – is a writer, photographer, trip leader, lifestyle coach, speaker, and a total boss on Instagram! In this episode, Erin shares her story that took her from being a trip leader in the northeastern U.S. and abroad, to becoming an influential, adventurous lifestyle blogger and a “gateway drug for personal development.” She gives us some great lessons in taking risks and “living deliberately,” mixed in with some personal tales of travel, growth, and yes, rambunctious evenings involving banana costumes and beer! Speaking of beer, Avery Brewing Co. in Boulder, CO is our setting for this episode, where the flight of brews in front of us provided many tasty talking points as well.

He has written for Lonely Planet, as well as his own guidebooks for San Francisco and New York City, and even had his own travel show “Young, Broke, and Beautiful” on IFC. Tucker Hutchinson has had quite the career. After getting fired from his finance job in New York City, he joined the Obama campaign in 2008 before heading abroad to teach English in Seoul, South Korea. Since then, he’s co-founded Go Overseas, an online resource that simplifies the process for going overseas to work, volunteer, study abroad, or even take a gap year. Tucker and I met up at Jupiter – a brewpub in Berkeley, CA - to talk all things related to going abroad, traveling in Asia, and of course, to drink some of Jupiter’s creamy in-house brews.

Kyle “Moose Bob” Walker is a true long-term traveler. This bartendin’ powder-farmin’ flip-phone-carryin’ nomad has been traveling the world for over 4 years, and has the stories to prove it. We talk about Moose’s journeys from Indonesia to Yellowstone, while discussing the history of Park City and the Sundance Film Festival. His philosophy on life and travel is straight-forward: SIMPLIFY. We get into all that over a couple Utah craft beers on the rooftop of Boneyard Saloon & Kitchen, with a perfect view of the Rocky Mountains to boot.

We’re trying something new this week…welcome to the first installation of “Flight School,” a new mini-series within Pubcast Worldwide where we focus specifically on the beer! This week, we’re joined by Certified Cicerone Tino LaGamba of Boulevard Brewing as we taste and discuss a flight of 3 unique brews and the story behind this Kansas City brewery (but don’t worry, there are still drinking stories). As an expert in Bay Area craft beer, Eric is guaranteed to make you thirsty with his description of the groovy beers we consumed at Harmonic Brewing, a newcomer to the San Francisco brewery scene.
