Ready Set Blow Podcast With Chase Abel And Randy V

Randy and Chase kick off the podcast recapping the Comics2Cure show, which was a huge success! Thanks to all that came out and the comics that performed! Chase got a message from a fan who was offended by one of his bits, so the boys break it down from a comic’s perspective. The guys talk a little bit about Randy’s family and the interesting ways they support his goals. The duo hit the week’s current events - eating farts can be good for your health, Hilary Clinton rigged the DNC, the Bush’s throw shade on Trump, and the fellas really break down a video where a woman slapped a cop and gets decked in return. 

You've seen him on Chappelle Show. You've seen him destroy comedy clubs all over the country. You've seen him on TMZ after a few cocktails...The fellas are joined by none other than Ashy Larry himself, Mr. Donnell Rawlings!!! The boys take a few minutes to chop it up with Donnell in the green room of Laugh Boston as he gets ready for the Comics 2 Cure benefit show. We talk about his start in comedy as a heckler, whether there is such a thing in comedy as "too soon", the Harvey Weinstein allegations and being a dad. You don't want to miss this one.

With Monday Night Football playing in the background, Randy opens the podcast talking about his love of violence in the game of football. Talk about the game on the field morphs into talking about the economic impact of football off the field. The guys move on to talk about doing favors and the concept of reciprocity. Chase talks about his days of break dance fighting in a dance crew. The fellas hit the current events for the week - Bob McNair (owner of the Houston Texans) and his foolish remarks, Paul Manifort gets indicted, a 10 year old boy stealing his parents car twice in one week, and bald men are perceived as more dominant.

Randy opens the show recounting his trip to Denver. A convo on Wesley Snipes-Woody Harrleson collaborations turns into a discussion on 90’s basketball movies. The fellas hit the current events - what your eating habits say about your personality, the new ninth planet, and pharmaceutical companies lobbying to make opioids harder for the DEA to regulate.

Randy and Chase open the show sharing their love of Denzel Washington movies. They move on to a follow-up conversation on the Equifax data breach and Sen. Elizabeth Warren taking the company’s CEO to task for their errors/extortion. Regular listener Olivia e-mails the show to better educate the guys on the term “toxic masculinity”. The fellas move on to some current events - Harvey Weinstein’s sexual harassment allegations, Jerry Jones and sitting players who don’t stand for the anthem and Mike Pence staging a fake walk out at a Colts game. 

Randy and Chase open the show talking about the tragedy in Las Vegas and the empty rhetoric associated with it in the media. The guys move on to tackle the term “toxic masculinity” and how being a man isn’t so popular these days. They hit the news for the week - Harvard ban’s single sex groups on campus, the Trump administration’s anti-gay position as it relates to the DOJ and United Nations, and comedian Jimmy Tingle running for Lt. After another west coast hiatus, the boys are back. Randy reveals he has quit being a vegan (after the best seafood meal of his life) and Chase has quit smoking (again). The guys discuss the weddings they attended and reconnecting with old friends. Randy and Chase are forced to address the latest Trump beef with the NFL and the protesting during the national anthem. The boys hit the news - an update on the Equifax breach and what not to do in an Uber ride. Randy finishes out the show talking about some of his old jobs.

Chase opens the show wondering aloud about his friends sex habits. He then moves onto a gripping description of his own sexual style in college. After mercifully switching topics, Randy explains why he is not impressed with people using a fancy vocabulary. The fellas move on to a discussion about having an ego and balancing confidence vs. arrogance. Finally, the guys tackle the news for the week-Jamele Hill calling Trump a “white supremist”, the Pentagon is ignoring Trump’s climate change denial agenda, and facial recognition software than can determine if someone is gay.

The Boston comedy scene experienced the tragic loss of a great young comic, Nick O’Connor, over the weekend. Chase and Randy share their thoughts on the sad events and offer their sincere condolences to those who knew him. After the emotional start, the guys move onto to Randy’s newest personal experiment - becoming a vegan. Randy then gets on his soap box about the massive Equifax data hack which has impacted hundreds of millions, Randy included among them. The boys then hit the current events - an Oklahoma sherif’s deputy shot a family’s dog and left it for dead on the porch, Rush Limbaugh thinks hurricanes are fake news and Lonzo Ball disrespects Nas and the history of hip-hop

Fresh from watching Beverly Hills Cop 3, Randy and Chase chat about what they were doing in 1994 when the movie first dropped. Randy talks about hustling during the the early AOL internet days in the mid 90's and Chase recounts his time in dance competitions (kinda like the movie "Fame"). The guys move on to talk about their Labor Day weekend. Randy attended his best friend's engagement party in Long Island and had a chance to catch up with some people from his past (congratulations Saul & Ayaka!). The guys bring the show home with some news - Trump's decision to end the DACA Dreamers program and a man who ran into the "Burning Man" statue and died.

Chase opens the show with the harrowing tale of his recent battle with a bee hive. Somehow the conversation turns to dating people with annoying food allergies. The boys give their two cents on the Mayweather/McGregor fight. The show wraps up with some current events - Amy Shumer getting her dollars up, underfunding at the Secret Service, and Millennials are having less sex than other generations

The guys kick off the show with their eclipse experience. Chase finally got a bike and shares the story of its acquisition. The fellas move onto the recap the sick night they had going to see Dave Chapelle at Radio City. Following that, Randy and Chase hit current events - the passing of Dick Gregory and Jerry Lewis, Chris Long taking a knee, the Boston rally and millennials killing industries.  They wrap up the show with listener mail - apparently there are more rats than pigeons…. 

Coming to you from NYC this week, Randy and Chase open the episode reacting to the tragic events in Charlottesville and the unacceptable response by the President. To break the tension of a heavy conversation, the guys decide to plug this week’s sponsor - Utopia Farms (utopiafarms.org)…best medical macaroons on the market. To keep it light, the guys reminisce about back in the day when they both owned pet snakes. After the creepy snake conversation, they hit current events for the week - Millenials are killing the AppleBee’s chain and the Ezekiel Elliot suspension. The boys wrap up the show getting amped to go see Dave Chapelle at Radio City Music Hall

Randy and Chase almost convince Randy’s roommate to hop the podcast and talk about the ongoing beef with his neighbor, but it will have to wait another week. The boys have a meandering conversation about finding things you are interested in to read about and their artistic (or lack thereof) sensibilities. All that highly cultured talk got the guys exhausted, so they move the conversation back to the streets and have a discussion on knowing when to walk away from a fight. The fellas tackle the current events as usual - Jay Cutler getting a contract with the Dolphins while Colin Kaepernick still doesn’t have a job, North Korea and their missile parades, and the update on the sentencing of a woman who texted her boyfriend to kill himself. They close out the show debating whether there are more rats or pigeons in major cities. Chase has some interesting logic on that question.

The boys open the show with an apology to the loyal fans for posting the show a day later than usual. Chase had a legit explanation. After the apologies, Chase gets into the story about the time he got arrested in Atlanta. Randy moves on to talk about using TV as a learning tool…any fool can choose to watch the Real Housewives, but there are good documentaries out there you can learn from. The fellas somehow get into a conversation about whether or not college athletes should get paid. That conversation leads to a broader discussion about whether the working class should be grateful to have jobs or whether they should demand more respect from employers. Randy and Chase finish up with some current events - the latest on immigration reform, R. Kelly and his alleged cult and O.J. getting released on parole.

Randy kicks off the podcast explaining why this episode got recorded in two parts due to some technical difficulties. He then breaks the news to Chase (and the legions of RSB podcast fans) that he is off the dating market again. After a little musical interlude, Chase tells the story of the guy he was forced to snuff at an open mic last week...don't disrespect Chase and don't disrespect comedy. The fellas move on to current events - John McCain's failing health and microchipping employees. Randy and Chase finish up the show with listener email from superfan Arianne

Chase and Randy start off with a recap of their LA vacation...and a list of things Randy likes and dislikes about that city. The guys move on to talk about the value of consistency and not giving up at the first sign of struggle (there's no such thing as an "overnight success")...it's important to have a support system around you to help. The fellas move on to current events - Conor McGregor and his potentially racist comments, a landlord who had to pay a $12K fine for walking in his tenant's apartment with shoes on, and Nevada selling out of weed. They finish up the show talking about David Blaine and how Chase believes in magic. Randy also starts to come around on Chase's strange food ordering habits

Randy and Chase sit down and chop it up with comedian Dean Delray in the belly of the world famous Comedy Store in L.A. You’ve heard Dean on his podcast “Let There be Talk” and if you are in the Detroit/Grand Rapids area, you can catch him this weekend opening up for Bill Burr at the Fountain St. Church (July 14-15) or watch him headline at Smalls in Detroit (July 16). In this episode the guys get into Dean’s path in the comedy game, avoiding having the keys so you can live your dream, flipping shit on eBay, the minimalist movement and podcasting. You don’t want to miss this one.

In this week’s episode, the guys prepare for their upcoming vacation. The Dean Delray Comics 2 Cure show was awesome and Randy and Chase thank the comics and the fans for coming out. Randy moves on to an impromptu financially funny segment with a question that’s been troubling him for years…why do cashiers put the coins in your hand last, on top of the cash and receipt? Randy and Chase tackle a few news topics this week - the Trump/Morning Joe feud, a Czech industrial company has a bikini contest for interns, and the right wing media pivoting to ask if collusion with Russia is even a crime. The guys bring the show home on a lighter note with a conversation on action movies and some listener emails.

Randy kicks off the show giving a recap of his McGreevy’s set (thanks to all for coming out!). The guys get into talking about how much doing cardio sucks - are marathoners crazy? Chase complements Randy on his leisure travel skills. Some how a chat about ice cream leads into a talk about small businesses - they aren’t always “mom and pop” stores like the media and politicians would lead you to believe. Randy tells stories about how his dad would play cold jokes on him and his siblings as little kids. The cookies and cream duo bring the show home going over some current events - a crazy N.C. date rape law and the story of a young woman who got convicted of manslaughter for texting her boyfriend to kill himself.
